SLAYER guitarist Kerry King has told U.K.'s Metal Hammer magazine that he has heard through the grapevine that METALLICA drummer Lars Ulrich is plotting a tour that would include METALLICA, MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX.

Should this tour materialize, this would be the first time that the so-called "Big Four" of thrash have toured together as part of the same bill. MEGADETH, SLAYER and ANTHRAX were joined by opening act ALICE IN CHAINS for the U.S. Clash Of The Titans tour in 1991, while METALLICA and MEGADETH last shared a U.K. stage at Milton Keynes Bowl in 1993.

In an interview conducted yesterday (Wednesday, September 2) in London, Metal Hammer asked Kerry if there had been a temptation to bring the co-headline tour that SLAYER are about to embark on with MEGADETH in Australia and Canada to U.K. shores.

"I think it would be cool but I knew we had this planned before all of this MEGADETH stuff started happening," said King. "They're going to Australia with us, they're going to Canada again with us. I think it would be cool for the European fans to bring that over here because, shit, we didn't even consider playing with those guys since 1990."

So could it be possible that we could get a tour that includes the "Big Four?"

"I've heard people referencing Lars," said King. "I don't know Lars that well and I haven't heard it from Lars, but apparently he's talking to somebody about it. Maybe us, METALLICA, MEGADETH (and), I think he even threw in ANTHRAX and I said in this day and age, I know we had that time together, but how do you leave out MACHINE HEAD? There's better options than ANTHRAX and that's nothing against ANTHRAX, but they've just been in pieces for quite some time and that doesn't make as much sense to me."

Now granted, Slayer and Megadeth are going to bitch about how they should get equal or MORE time than Metallica, but what the fuck ever. I'd sit through Kerry Kings garbage soloing and Tom Arayra's shitty vocals to see the rest of these bands on the same bill.

I just can't see this happening.

There's just too many huge egos involved for it to work.

^Exactlly. These guys would never be able to put all of their bullshit aside to do a tour.
I don't even think these guys would be satisfied with rotating headlining spots. It would definately be a pretty killer tour though and probably nearly impossible to get tickets to with all of these bands fan clubs and pre-sale bullshit. Mission Metallica makes it damn near impossibly to attend any of there shows at floor level anymore.

It depends on what size venue you're seeing them in. Mission Metallica annihilates the tickets most times. I hate horrible seats when I saw them last year with Machine Head.

well lets see.... I saw Megadeth last year with In Flames, Children of Bodom, and Job For A Cowboy for their 2008 Gigantour.... one hell of a show, I had floor general admission... $45 and I was bout 10 feet from Mustaine and Alexi from Bodom so that made my day!

I saw Metallica/Machine Head earlier this year in January... for $155.... I had GREAT seats, but not floor... still good seats and one hell of a show!

I saw Anthrax 4 years ago, and I was way in the back, so I didn't really enjoy it.

I saw Slayer this year at Mayhem... had floor... tickets were $78.95 and I had SO much painful moshing ass fun!

BUT, to have all 4 on one stage during one night... never ever going to happen

Look at those ticket prices for a fuckin metal show...ridiculous.
I was backstage for that whole Gigantour you're talking about. I know the guys in In Flames pretty well...and their tour manager Neil so that was a pretty cool show.

I've got Metallica tickets for sometime coming up. I honestly completely forget what the date is, my friend has the tickets...I should really ask him..lol.

I'd go for Anthrax, Megadeth and Slayer but I'd walk out on Metallica. They suck ass live now as it is anyways, and shouldn't be playing a "ThrasH" megatour unless they're only going to play their first 4 albums. Something about hearing Megadeth close with "Peace Sells..But Who's Buying?" followed with Metallica farting through "St. Anger" just doesn't work for me.

Plus, why would you want to give Metallica your hard earned money? After how hard they've sold out in every single capacity, how can anybody even respect them anymore?

I'm not that big of an Anthrax fan, and I'm not a Slayer fan at all, so this wouldn't be anything special for me. I would love to see Megadeth though. And Gates, trust me, you will never hear Metallica play anything from St. Anger live anymore.

But James' voice sucks now. They don't play pissed off anymore. You have to leave the aggression in metal, notably ThrasH metal. I still won't forgive what Metallica did.
