One of the guitarists from Meshuggah coined the term djent, describing a guitar sound or something like that. I look at modern djent bands as people trying to copy Meshuggah and failing

I haven't heard too much djent (because it's bad lol) but idk, I don't think they sound much like Meshuggah. They must have failed miserably

They honestly just kinda get the term djent because they use 8 string guitars. It's generalizing a bunch of bands but I don't feel bad because they're bad
