Never liked the idea of leases that long, but if you're planning to stay there I guess it's best

I lived in an apartment with my ex a few years ago and we had a month to month. You're moving to NY right?

Plus it's kind of in the middle of my wife's new job and my new school

Probably would be best to sign a year lease for NYC. I'd say month to month is crazy expensive there because they expect people to move there and maybe not stick around
