Mostly, yeah. I like stuff like Sex Pistols and The Clash a bit, but a lot of the good hardcore was from the US

Metal is diverse in itself though. Listening to Mercyful Fate and Teitanblood isn't the same. Not even close.
Even within their own sub genres, like say Cannibal Corpse and teitanblood really aren't all that similar.
