I tried going back to SWTOR when the Shadow of Revan expansion came out but I just couldn't get back into the game because I knew the endgame hadn't changed

Not having individual class stories hurt SoR. Everyone did the same thing on the same planet pretty much. There were only slight difference in how you interacted withcharacters based on your class
