not sure how you can argue NGW was run any better then IWT when IWT has been around nearly 5 years and NGW struggled to stay alive for a year

I think the core basis of people either really miss NGW or keep failing at IWT and presume a switch to the opposite side of the tracks would be a way to kick them into shape.
