Think it looks pretty good though wish Renner hadn't been in MI 4 also. I'm glad though that in this day of remakes and reboots their acknowledging the prior movies and even bringing in some of the same people.

Kinda shocked to see Ed Norton in it though seems he'll be chasing down the Renner character.

The Bourne Series is probably like my favourite movies so i'll definitley check this out, even if it is going to be weird as hell without Matt Damon

When I first heard about plans for this movie I was unsure about it because I wrongly assumed that they were replacing Damon as Bourne. Very happy to see that it is a different character in the same Bourne world rather than getting another actor to play the character. Leaves the door open for an awesome future film in Damon comes back. I am a massive fan of the Bourne series so I will be going to see this. "There was never just one" is a great tag line.

Should of let Greengrass direct so Damon would be on board FFS.

Hopefully they get both of them back for the next one and then they can put Renner's character in it as well if it does well.

So is this based on those other, post-Ultimatum, cash-in Bourne books which are NOT written by Robert Ludlum?

Empire talked to The Bourne Legacy director/co-writer Tony Gilroy, producer Frank Marshall and star Jeremy Renner.

Renner told the magazine that his character, Aaron Cross, is "coming from a completely different background to Jason [Bourne]. He knows exactly who he is; he signed up to this...He wants to be part of a team. I can tell you he was in the military then he joined the [program]. He's a person who wants to be part of something... to have a sense of purpose. But then it's taken away."

Marshall, however, dropped the more interesting bit: "You see there are several different [programs] in the movie with different skill sets. All possibilities are open. My dream is that in the next one we see Matt and Jeremy team up."

That would be quite something. The action thriller, also starring Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, opens in theaters on August 10.

Dunno this seems to similar to his role as Hawkeye in a way. I like the aspect that they may both be in the next one but I doubt it unless Damon still hasn't found something else to do.

The first Bourne was fairly basic thriller stuff, but when they bought Greengrass in the series became far edgier and Demon grew more into the role in the later films. Might give the new one a look, but certainly won't rush out to see it.

Doesn't look good at all, IMO.

I mean it was getting 'samey' so I can see why they changed it up, but the lead actor looks cack and totally mis-cast for the role.
