I'm surprised no one has mentioned Big Daddy V or Mark Henry!

Uh...

Ok, nevermind then.

This is opinionated, and we all know what that leads to, but here are my votes:

1. Hulk Hogan
2. Ric Flair
3. Sting
4. Shawn Michaels
5. Triple H

I'd love to say a couple of my favorites, Diamond Dallas Page and Goldberg, but sadly they didn't have everything that goes into being the greatest ever such as decades of staying power or bags full of charisma in Goldberg's case.

The best wrestlers ... ever.

Only longtime enthusiasts of the sport can give an informed answer to this question.Wrestling was not always a conspicuous part of the pop culture and wrestlers whose careers preceded the saturation of the electronic media are prone to be overlooked. Also consider that present day wrestlers are bigger, stronger and faster than their historical counterparts. But with due regard to yesterdays stars, the top 5 is not hard to pick.

There are certain attributes a performer needs to earn his measure of greatness. These include athleticism, ring skills, the ability to make an opponent appear worthy or even better than he is, to engage the emotions of the fans, longevity, drawing power and professional achievement.

Surpassed by Hulk Hogan only in drawing power, RIC FLAIR topped other wrestlers in other criteria. He was the very definition of pro wrestling -- possessing unparalled work ethic, unmatched promo skills -- a man dripping with charisma, a master psychologist, comedian, dramatist, with the ability to carry even the most limited opponent to a 5 star classic. And he did it for 35 years, 25 as a titlist or top contender.

My top 5 is as follows:

1. Ric Flair
2. Nick Bockwinkel
3. Steve Austin
4. Lou Thesz
5. Hulk Hogan

Austin, Hogan, and the Rock...They are the top tier, no one else comes close.

The next tier includes Flair, Andre, HBK, HHH, Cena, Taker. But they come no where near the top three.

As far as women...I guess Lita and Victoria would top my list.

Shelton Benjamin, Kenta Kobayashi , Ultimo Dragon, Bret Hart, and Jushin "Thunder" Liger tbh.

As far as women's probably Gail Kim and Victoria win it personally.

That is true.

Of course it depends on your definition of wrestler, doesn't it?!

Ric Flair serves as possibly the best example of the total package. The Rock had both wrestling ability and undoubtedly tons of charisma.

I could list loads and loads more. I won't even start lol

Flair, of course.

Randy Savage is underrated, and belongs in the discussion. He made in-ring wrestling more exciting and paved the way for a new more fast-paced high-flying wrestling.

Shawn Michaels.

Kurt Angle. Another guy who can flat-out wrestle and is good on mic also.

IF you want to help select the best of 2008, check out my tourney:

Best wrestler EVER? Performance wise.......

Christopher Daniels. This guy is absolute 100% 100000 Karat GOLD in the ring. He can pull off some flippy shit maneuver and then just completely over power you. He is a great techincal wrestler, too. Daniels can generate heat and whatever you call the opposite for a face. And the fact that he can go from gimmick to gimmick and still be a phenomenal wrestler is great too. He's pretty good on the mic, but not as good as my favorite wrestler on the mic......

Flair, Owen, Bret, Steamboat and Hennig. Those five men put on some of the best matches i ever watched. As you can imagine, the late 80s to early 1990s is my favorite time frame to watch wrestling.
