I like Christmas. People buy me things and I show my appreciation by not buying them anything back. Win-win.

Christian/traditional Christmas and the main stream excuse to juice people out of their money under the mask of "giving" and "family time" are completely two different things.

If Christmas was still a religious holiday, we'd have flying crosses and pastors :)cesaro:) running around during commercials. Christmas is like Kwanzaa, except with less black people, more presents, more lights and the same amount of "why the fuck do people take this seriously."

Don't celebrate Christmas, myself, but I enjoy the atmosphere. The lights, snow, cinnamon scents and the days off are always good.:bischoff:

I enjoy the lights and food, the smells, the snow... But people being greedy and uneducated ruin it for me. Someone in my family actually said Christmas is "American" when I said it was originally Pagan. lol To me, it shouldn't matter how you enjoy the season and if you choose not to honor the day as a "holiday" who really cares? What harm is it doing?

Christmas is what you make of it. If you don't want to spend a ton (or even any) money on it then don't. I'm guessing you don't care too much about what people think since your skipping it but the reason for skipping it seems to be because you care what people think, unless I'm being an idiot and misreading things again.

Me? nah I am not celebrating it after this year because I don't care what people think lol I don't need a dedicated day to be thankful for people or get them gifts. As long as I could remember it has just been stressful for my family emotionally and financially. Nothing "jolly" about that. lol

I hate this lie and what it does to kids.

If you want to celebrate this holiday, why do you have to lie to your kids? Since when is this "fun" or considered a good thing?
