New World Tag Team Champs Crowned
Saturday, June 07, 2008

The scene last Friday in Hartford, CT was one of high emotion and extreme intensity as Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black of The Age Of The Fall won a one night tournament to become the new ROH World Tag Team Champions. It has been a tumultous year for the belts and now Jacobs & Black are looking to bring stability back to the titles.

Stabile is not the word to describe the title victory post match. In something rarely seen in wrestling these days, the fans' disdain for The Age Of The Fall's win over the very popular Kevin Steen & El Generico exploded into a storm of beer bottles, drinks and any other garbage around the arena that could be propelled towards the ring. TAOTF were completely unphased by the violent beer and soda shower as Jacobs told the crowd that the revolution was now "unstoppable." This will be documented in the next ROH Video Wire at ROHvideos.com.

Former five-time and the last ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay & Mark Briscoe are said to be very distraught over the Age Of The Fall's victory. Afterall, it was Jacobs who put Mark out of action by deeply stabbing him in the wrist severing ligaments. This forced Mark to undergo surgery. He will now miss up to six months of action. As a result, Jay Briscoe refused to defend the belts without his brother. He vacated his coveted titles only to have Jacobs & Black win them (check the 5/5/08 and 5/22/08 ROH Video Wires at www.ROHvideos.com for FREE to see all this develop).

There are several teams already petitioning for a shot at the new champs. One thing that this year has proven is that the ROH World Tag Team Titles can change hands on any night to any team. Now we will see if Jimmy Jacobs & Tyler Black are truly "unstoppable."

Wow, that sucks that they won and alot of the fans didnt seem to be happy, This sucks!

^ idiots, I was saying it sucks because I like Steen/Gernerico and alot of the other fans do and it was finally a chance for them to win the title but the gave it to the AOTF who have had the title quite abit recently...I wasnt saying the fans didnt like it because they were heel the didnt like it because they knew they shouldnt have won the belts.

In terms of booking it's way better for the AOTF to win the belts. Steen has a storyline going on where he's promised to win ROH gold by the end of the year. Why end that story now?

I'm liking the changing of tag team champions recently. It's so much different from the ROH World Title because it's really unpredictable, all the contenders are even in my mind. Hopefully this will be a nice run for AOTF, but Steen & Generico should be able to get the belts by maybe the 200th Show or Death Before Dishonor Weekend when those roll around.
