There’s obviously too much (mis)information out there to get a clean read on what’s going to happen for sure…but I am not surprised to see some polls and predictions started to turn left in the final days. A lot of polls never made sense to me…just mathematically. When you start to see some polls come out after early voting and say they may have underrepresented some voting blocks…it explains why things weren’t adding up to me. I don’t believe Harris is going to win Iowa. I do believe that poll shook other models into looking at how someone not herding came out with something so surprising in result. And the sheer volume of early voting numbers probably forced them to look at who was voting and their own sample data and see a discrepancy. More than any year…so many polls are more interested in staying within the margin of error than trying to represent an accurate method. Pollsters afraid of being wrong are basically worthless as pollsters. The point is always that you can know how each block will vote better than how many of each block will vote. And I can tell you from early voting and the line I stood in today for the first time since 2008…they largely underserved the latter.
