The 104th Indy 500 Official Thread

We can use this thread come race day to talk about the race, and use it for now as hype for the race. Normally this race would have happened back in May, but with how 2020 has been, and The Rona, it's taking place Sunday, August 23rd. I will use this thread to keep things updated. This is one of my favorite races, so I look forward to it.

Who all else is excited for this race?​

I failed at keeping it updated. But here let me post the starting line up for tomorrow's race.

The green flag will drop on the 2020 Indy 500 at 2:30 p.m. ET (coverage begins at 1 p.m. on NBC) Sunday, nearly three months after its originally scheduled date.

I am here watching. That sucks for Davison. A brake or whatever getting caught on fire inside the wheel. Something that driver can't control. Looked like he was trying to get it to the pits but the fire had other plans.

This is the first time I've ever watched a Indy 500 race.

Since we got that, I'm gonna try to keep up with the second Cup Series race at Dover.

As for Dixon, he's indeed having a day at the track. If he continues to keep up the momentum he could very well win it. But we'll see.

The only thing at this moment that could halt Dixons path to winning (excluding wrecking) is if some sort of pit strategy toward the end of the race from other drivers doesn't favor him. He really is the fastest one in the race right now.

Conor Daly spins Oliver Askew hits the wall, plus colliding with Daly to end both their days.

Looks like Rossi's day is done after hitting the wall. He was fighting to make a comeback, but the setbacks of having to go to the back and his eventually wrecking, ended his day.

Looks like Dixon has this.

Edit: Dixon isn't back in the lead yet but it feels like he can lay back on purpose if he wants.
