Well, my Thanksgiving in October was nice. I went back home to be with my family, practically had to 'babysit' my 9-year-old cousin while I was there but she was happy so that was good. Had loads of potatoes and turkey, a bit of corn and ham.

What is the tradition for Canada's Thanksgiving (like the reason of celebration)? I never knew you guys celebrated it.

Best Thanksgiving ever, but getting engaged might be causing a bit of bias there :p

Screw a whole bunch of Black Friday shopping though. Staying inside where I won't get stabbed over a TV.

It's traditional to celebrate "the harvest and other blessings" here, we celebrate it because....Turkey...

Engaged? Congrats!

So it was adopted from the US then? Like our Thanksgiving originated from the Pilgrims and Native Americas calling truce and giving thanks to the first new harvest.

To be honest, Canada has adopted a mix of traditions and values from Britain, the French, and America along with our own from our first nations. Then again, we also have a popular sport where people wear blades on their feet and travel on an ice surface, bumping into each other, looking to score a goal by getting a black rubber disc into a net behind a person with more padding than a kid with a very protective mother. Oh, and there are occasional bare-knuckle brawls!

The only time a Canadian isn't polite.
