In this thread I will compiling my thoughts on weekly wrestling programmes and the occasional PPV (if I can remember!). At the moment I watch Ring of Honor, Dynamite, Smackdown and Rampage. Of course I'll also be watching whatever PPV's AEW does and perhaps WWE/ROH ones. The weekly breakdowns of shows will all follow this format:
Star of the Show - The wrestler I was most impressed with in that episode and some thoughts about why. Moment of the Show - The segment/promo that stood out to me the most. Match of the Show - The match I feel was the best.
I most likely won't be doing full reviews for weekly shows. The first ones I'm going to do for my thread are Smackdown and Rampage as they are still fresh in my mind.
Despite the beatdown by the Usos before the match, Finn put on a great performance and at one point I almost thought he may clinch the win for a second. Finn always puts on a great show when he gets an opportunity to have a big title match.
Moment of the Show: Becky & Bianca
Great promo from both ladies which proves why they are two of the best in the division right now. There is a great heat to this feud and I'm highly anticipating the moment they get in the ring together. I thought Bianca really showed up in this episode. I liked her attitude and really do feel that the roles should be reserved.
Match of the Show: Finn vs Roman
Great match that went on a lot longer than I was expecting considering the pre-match fuckery from the Usos. Balor had a really great showing here and Roman is a master at upping the drama and just kicking out before three count. Great looking Coup de Grâce from Finn. Excellent drama and loving the heel work from Roman. Match kept Finn looking strong even with the outcome being so obvious.
Made the most of his opportunity in the main event against Darby and loved the intensity from him. He also had Punk putting him over on commentary saying he'd fight him if he beats Darby. It has been great to see these younger guys get prominment spots in the show, and he's going to have some big matches in his future.
Moment of the Show: Miro & Eddie
Eddie felt really confident on the mic here against Miro and it was great. Both guys did a good job with their respective promos. Loving the charisma and it built some really nice heat towards the feud. Redeem deez nuts cracked me up.
Match of the Show: Garcia vs Darby
I did enjoy Malakai's match and the women's handicap, but the main event was fantastic. Garcia looked like a good threat in the match and the post-match staredown between Punk and Darby built some great last-minute heat towards their match.
