Having just brought you news of Glover Teixeira’s official signing with the UFC, we found it only appropriate to hit you with a fast breaking update: Teixeira now has an official opponent and debut date. The dangerous Brazilian will tangle with the very athletic Kyle Kingsbury at UFC 146.

Teixeira is the owner of 17 professional victories against just two defeats. He currently rides a 15 fight win streak with noteworthy victories over Ricco Rodriguez, Marvin Eastman, Marcio Cruz and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou.

Kingsbury, who first gained attention on the popular reality show The Ultimate Fighter, has posted four victories against two defeats while fighting for the promotion. Victories over Fabio Maldonado and Jared Hamman anchor his ledger.

Also on tap for UFC 146 is a heavyweight tilt between former title challenger, Gabriel Gonzaga and unbeaten Shane del Rosario, who enjoyed success fighting under the Strikeforce banner.

Gonzaga hit a rough patch after shocking the world by knocking out Mirko “Crocopâ€￾ Filipovic back at UFC 70. The victory left many believing Gonzaga may be the next man to hold UFC brass, but it was not to be. The Brazilian put together a 5-5 record post Crocop victory, and was even temporarily released by the promotion before a successful return at UFC 142, where Gabriel earned a first round submission win over Ednaldo Oliveira.

Shane Del Rosario in contrast has yet to drop a fight in 11 professional outings. Though Shane hasn’t toppled an elite heavyweight at this point, he did enjoy a successful run while fighting for the Strikeforce promotion, picking up three consecutive victories, including a first round submission over Lavar Johnson.

UFC 146 takes place on May 26th from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. A heavyweight title bout between Junior dos Santos and Alistair Overeem headlines the card.
