Who do you feel has been the greatest threat to Taker's undefeated streak? Which wrestler do you feel was the closest to getting the nod to defeat the deadman at wrestlemania?

I still think Batista was the closest to end the streak. He was in his prime, and had a lot of momentum. He was a babyface, and the WWE was looking to move in a new direction. I think once the idea that Batista would end takers streak the fans complained and WWE lost faith in Batista, and scraped that idea.

To be honest. NOBODY!!!!!!! I don't see the WWE letting Undertaker lose at Wrestlemania. For a guy that has done so much for the promotion, I see Vince and the rest of the gang giving him his due and letting his unbeaten string at WM go on and go into the annals of the history books. I would rather not see anyone take the streak from him because it's something that will never come again. Let this stand. But all in all, I agree with you Montana. I think Batista had the best chance. I was at WM 23 and it was a pretty good match up. I see Taker retiring with the streak in tact.

I have never thought that Taker would lose a match at Mania. With Batista, I figured, that maybe they would go with some DQ ending, but I saw that as the longshot and knew Taker was winning. I also think that was always the plan. You dont go from wanting Batista to beat Taker at Mania to have Taker beat Batista three times on a row. WWE is known for weird booking decisions but I don't see them completely going 360.

Maybe HBK. Part of me thought that at 26 he would defeat Taker. But still, I have never seen anybody truly poised to do so.

I thought/wanted both Diesel (@12) & Kane (@14) to beat him but they're dim and distant memorys from a time before all the hype about the streak.

Orton seemed plausible (save for them getting Bob Snr involved), but I wasn't watching at that time....
