It was awful. Undertaker said it best in an interview he did a few years back. On paper it was a very intriguing feud and had a lot of potential, but it just didn't work out as planed.

It was actually the main event at Summerslam 94. It followed the classic World title match between Bret and Owen.

I'm only 21 and feel incredibly old watching that match again. Being a little kid and seeing that, I remember thinking there was a clone or some shit like that.

Damn right I do. Cmon, I told you I like the Blue Jays, I'm from Ontario just like you. Who doesn't watch OTR in Ontario? lol

And to try and make this post somewhat on topic.... ummm.... lol at Paul Bearer's face when he's in the dark holding the urn? *shrugs*

I didn't even really see that much potential in it. Bearing in mind that pseudo-taker had to be a normal guy, they couldn't have him do the 'sit-ups' or supernatural stuff so surely he'd be rumbled as fake in no time and therefor could only really be a one match deal. I'd say it reached whatever little potential it did have. The only messed up part was their trying to balance it with the supposedly comedic "have you seen Taker?"/Police Squad skits.

I always thought the proverbial one that got away was his fueding with Mordecai... As I understand it they lost faith in Kevin Thorne, but IMO it was such a waste not creating a spiritually entrenched counter-force/nemesis to Taker (aside from Kane, who himself was wasted).... Someone that would get the better of him at times over a 2/3 years on/off fued only to eventually be put to rest by Taker.

You remember when you used to play the old Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat games and both you and your friend would pick the same guy and one would have slightly different costume colors....that's this.

I've watched this match on an old recorded SS 94 tape my uncle has. When I was younger I thought it was the coolest thing ever, and really it could have been but it was totally misbooked. The Owen/Bret match was 5* imo.

Brian Lee is a terrible wrestler. He was in WWF, he was in TNA, he still is terrible.

^^^I didn't realise it was him.... I thought it was another night incognito for Glen 'Kane' Jacobs.

Glen was Fake Diesel or Fake Razor, one of those two. But yeah, fake Taker was Brian Lee.

I actually heard Taker, and Lee are best buddies in RL. Somebody once said one of them was a best man at the other's wedding.
