lol We really are getting Cena and Orton at Wrestlemania XXX, aren't we? Them teasing it as early as Survivor Series worries me because it's not uncommon that they tease big matches for Mania this early. Goldberg/Lesnar was teased a decade ago starting with a confrontation at Survivor Series. However, so was a possible partnership between Gene Snitsky and Heidenrich to go up against their respective enemies Undertaker and Kane at WM21, but that match was scraped in favor of Taker/Orton, thank fuck. So there's still hope that Cena/Orton won't happen either. Hopefully this is just a red herring or something.

To be fair, I really wouldn't mind another Cena/Orton feud, just not as the long awaited unification match at Wrestlemania XXX (and I'm also still 50/50 on whether I want the titles unified yet or not.)
Vince has been set on Orton v Cena being the greatest feud of their generation for a decade now. It'll most likely happen, Vince is that much of a control freak.

See the thing with that is we'll have a Royal Rumble winner added to the mix if they chose to do Cena Vs. Orton.

The rumble winner could go for the streak I guess.

Or make it a three way

That's the only way I could see it working. When it comes to a unification match between any two people, the WWE Champion pretty much has to walk away the winner (given that there's no way the WHC is replacing the WWE Title as the dominant title) and no way would Orton be booked to go over Cena in a situation like that at a Wrestlemania. In the event of a triple threat, I could see CM Punk being the third guy, and walking away the unified champion.

A really over-the-top alternate idea would be doing a fatal four way elimination match between Orton, Cena, Punk and Bryan. Just throw all four guys in the same ring as one another and have them do battle to find out who the ultimate face of the company really deserves to be. Unifying both championships seems pretty odd in a situation like that though, and I doubt they'd want to throw four of their biggest stars for Mania all in the same match together (as opposed to spreading them out a little more across the card.)

But logic is flawed here as well sadly. Yes in no way will Cena give up to Orton. But Cena is the WHC, and by all logic both contenders will want their belt to be the one that remains, otherwise it would be like shitting on the thing you were building up for the last 6 months. Would Cena really build up the WHC just to drop it after beating Orton? Basic logic would say that it would be the WHC staying, but as you said no way that happens with Vince still alive.

I wouldn't bet on it happening when Vince steps down either unless HHH's ego really is so enormous that he makes the WHC the main title just so he can say that the premier championship of the company is one that has him as it's inaugural champion (not counting the NWA/WCW Title linage that the belt can be linked to.) But surely they wouldn't do what they did with the World Tag Team and Women's Championships and replace the older belt with the newer one? I hate it when they change shit just for the sake of doing it, and I think the rich history of the WWE Title should be celebrated rather than done away with arbitrarily. Plus, they just introduced a new WWE Title design earlier this year, I can't see them getting rid of it so soon if the unification match does happen at WMXXX.

That did smell like an unification match coming, and the fact that it's between Cena and Orton doesn't really make me very happy. Can we at least say that Big Show's main event push is over now?
