Summer 2001. We find WWF deep in the grips of an Invasion. At July's Invasion PPV, the war between WWF and The Alliance took a monumental and unexpected turn when Stone Cold Steve Austin turned on his team to join The Alliance, This lead to a victory for the WCW-ECW Coalition, and left a major mark on Team WWF's pride. At SummerSlam, it's a chance for Team WWF to redeem themselves and a chance for The Alliance to squeeze down harder on the throats of their enemies.

We've got a double main event queued up for the biggest party of the Summer! It'll be Stone Cold Steve Austin defending the WWF Championship against Kurt Angle in the first main event, and Booker T defending the WCW Championship against The Rock in the second! Plus, WCW Tag Team Champions The Brothers of Destruction take on WWF Tag Team Champions DDP and Kanyon inside a steel cage, Rob Van Dam faces Jeff Hardy in a ladder match and Tajiri takes on X-Pac for both the WCW Cruiserweight and WWF Light Heavyweight Titles!

Almost every 2000 and 01 PPV are amazing tbh. Very hit or miss before then as far as PPVs go, after as well but the Ruthless Aggression Era easily had more "hits"

The actually PPV is pretty great. They didn't really fuck it until this PPV.

Other than not having the guys like Sting and shit, but once you get over that, Invasion for the first month and half is awesome.

Great PPVs and amazing video packages. The Vengeance 2001 promo is still top tier for me.
