Scott Sinclair appears to be closing in on a move to Manchester City after the Premier League champions made a formal offer for the Swansea winger.

The 23-year-old has informed the Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins and the manager Michael Laudrup he has no desire to sign a new deal at the Liberty Stadium, and with his current contract set to expire next summer he was always likely to be sold.

City have long been the favourites to sign the former Chelsea man and it is understood they have firmed up their interest by making a bid, believed to be in the region of £5million.

On Tuesday, Swansea's first-team coach Alan Curtis admitted a move to the Etihad Stadium was looking increasingly likely for the Great Britain Olympic forward, who scored in his side's 5-0 win at QPR on Saturday.

Curtis told BBC Sport: "He's not really interested in signing a new contract and I think Man City have made a bid. So it's just a matter of time now before it happens and it's good for both parties.

I like Scott Sinclair he seem's like a good potential talent. If we do sign him I hope he's given a opportunity, just look what happened to Adam Johnson and he's a quality winger. On another note I'm happy that Mancini is starting to buy British players.

I honestly don't think he's good enough for you, he's a mid table prem guy at best IMO. Johnson is better and can't get into your team so I don't think he will.

I agree with some of what you're saying but I think Sinclair could be a nice little addition to the squad, I'm sure if he signs he knows what to expect, and I think he will just be a player to bring on and add a little tempo, and :flair: to the game.

Really? Scott Sinclair? I'd be unhappy if I was a City fan personally.

I really like the kid, I think he's got potential, and £5,000,000 for a British player is a bargain.

He's decent for a lower team, but Adam Johnson > Him by a long shot ;S.

I'm guessing he's happier sitting on the bench than Johnno. A happy good player being better than a pissed off great one so to speak.

I heard it was Mancini who wanted Adam out, not the other way around. :S

I just don't see how Scott fits in with how City play -- which is beautifully -- he's more like an Ashley Young player. Speaking of Ashley Young, he needs to gtfo asap.

True, he's a boss diver -.-

Makes me hate him more, he's trying so hard to be accepted at United. He was a boss at Villa. Argh.

Nani is the most inconsistent fag too. Still love him though. Kagawa is our best player atm I swear.

Can't wait for transfers to be done, we've done nothing this window apart from Rodwell so far.

Where do City need to strengthen? Do you think you'll pick Llorente up?

I'm not sure, I think Attack we're pretty solid. Don't get me wrong I would love the signing of Llorente but I don't know how he would fit in with Tevez & Aguero. Maybe either Tevez or Aguero would play behind two strikers up front I'm not sure. Mancini stated at the start of the season he wanted to try out different tactics so we weren't predictable. Like I've said to Crayo, I think we need a top class CB.

I just think Rodwell was a mistake, I would still say a partner for Yaya in the center would be better. A CDM, like Diara, M'Villa, a Sergio Busquets type player. Rodwell is a great but for the FUTURE but didn't you spend like £15 million on him? Yaya goes forward is probably one of the best CDM's in the world, but when he goes forward you're so open to the counter. Barry is slow and sluggish, Rodwell doesn't seem to be a rough and grind tackler, De Jong is older and slower now and can not play the passing game. A CB or CDM is definitely the buy I'd want as a City fan.
