LEAGUE CITY, TX (KTRK) -- A suspect is in custody after an altercation at an area high school in which another student was stabbed with a pair of scissors.
According to Clear Creek Independent School District spokesperson Elaina Polson, two male students got into a fight at Clear Creek High School on Main
Street in League City. An 18-year-old student slashed a 16-year-old student at the back of his neck with a pair of scissors and then ran from the school, Polson said.
The suspect was caught by law enforcement officers several minutes later. Polson says the school was not put on lockdown during the incident.
The incident happened between the second and third periods in the school day. Polson says officials don't know what sparked the stabbing.
The 16-year-old was treated and released from a nearby hospital. The 18-year-old suspect was arrested and charged with assault, Polson said.
