In an interview with the Ottawa Sun, WWE Hall of Famer "Stone Cold" Steve Austin spoke about how WWE has changed since his days as an active superstar and said that he "absolutely" has one more match left in him.

"WWE has changed," Austin said. "It's a different climate, more of a PG image. They've cleaned it up a bit. For me to go back, I have to watch my Ps and Qs. It's another day and age. They've got young superstars to sell."

When asked whether we've seen the last of Stone Cold in the ring, he gave a surprising answer that's totally different from what Jim Ross has repeatedly stated in his blogs about Austin wrestling a final match. "Do I have a match left in me? Absolutely. Do I want to do one more? I don't know. I'm very content with leaving well enough alone. I don't want to be 90% of what Stone Cold was."

I wanted him to say it. And if it was up to me Cena or Orton would be that man in the match with Austin. What do you guys think?

I'd prefer Randy Orton! He's the closest the WWE has to a tweener right now and Austin of course was the ultimate Tweener. It wouldn't be the same Austin of course so I could do without him. God I wish this was the attitude era.

He won't do it. That was the whole gist of the article was that yeah he can wrestle but that won't help his acting career so it's not gonna happen.

To his credit he has stayed retired. Although I heard the only reason he backed out of his match with COACH, (of all fuckin people), was because he was slated to do the j-o-b.

I really don't miss Austin the wrestler that much. It's nice when he shows up to guest ref a match or something but he was only on top for a year. He doesn't need to wrestle anymore.

No. Please Stone Cold, don't do it. So many wrestlers emberrase themselves by retiring only to wrestle a year later. ( Ric Flair, Mick Foley, Terry Funk).

Austin went out in a great match with The Rock at Mania XIX. It was a very real moment at the end, when you could tell it hit him that it was over.

I want him to stay true to his word and just let it be his last match and not "scratch the itch". But maybe I'm just being selfish.

There is probably a 90% chance he will never return to the ring. Austin isn't one to change his mind like that. I would be surprised and extremely excited if he did, but the bottom line is that his match with the Rock at WMXIX was his last.

Why didn't he say it was his last match? Not everyone knew it was. Why did he want to go out quietly?

I'm just speculating but if I was Steve Austin I wouldn't need a huge deal to tell me that there might be one other person in all of wrestling history who had a greater impact than I was.

Can't remember where I saw it, but there was an awesome video where Rock explains the events leading up to that match at WM 19 and the day of it backstage. Says he knew it was probably Austin's last match and so did a couple other guys backstage, but Austin didn't really make a big deal out of it. Rock said how honored he was and shit to have it with him. Then something really cool I thought was right after Rock beats him you can see them sitting up and talking and he says that he says he 'loved him' and that he'll always remember this moment and thanks, etc. I'll try to find it. Sad moment though.
