“Oh, it was close. And they certainly reached out to me and we had conversations, but my wife and I had some things going on that I didn’t need to go to Philly at that time. But I have said — I missed that Mania. And god dang, Philly was a good town for me back in the day and I appreciate those fans. Couldn’t make it down on that one, but WrestleMania this year is in Vegas. And I was doing an interview a while back and I said, ‘Hey man’ — and that’s 400 miles. That’s like right here, where we’re sitting. Right down the road,” Austin said. “But anyway, it’ll be in Vegas, so I hope to be there this year.”

I feel like he said before he didn't appear because of money reasons though I could be way off on that.

I'm not sure if I would have preferred Austin showing up over Taker or not. Either way with the gong or the glass shatter would have been a cool moment when the rock was standing there.

I've forever argued Taker was the better choice for the story they told. Austin had no quarrel with Roman, Taker did. Why would Austin help cost Roman the Championship?

That being said, while I want Austin to appear again, he doesn't need to wrestle another match. The match with KO was a perfect sendoff for his in-ring career.

I think the Austin hope was more because of the legendary rivalry with Rock than it was to do with Roman. You can also play up Austins issues with authority and where Rock was at with being the Final Boss and his place on the TKO board etc.

Oh yeah you could have made it work. But I liked that everything was based off the in-ring stuff. Taker evening the odds dates back to Roman/Taker at Mania 33. It was Taker metaphorically saying "This is his (Cody's) Yard Now" to Roman.

Stone Cold coming back for one last match or whatever he does. Would be freakin' awesome and I hope he does. Just wondering who it would be. Haven't a clue tbh.
