WHO'S NEXT??? ( )
WCW descends upon the MCI Center in Washington D.C. for the sixteenth installment of their flagship PPV Starrcade.
This is a new year but not much different of a story for WCW as far as the hierarchy goes. nWo are still the prevailing force in the company (despite splintering in the faction), but as we head into Starrcade the World Heavyweight Championship is strapped around the waist of the undefeated supernova known simply as Goldberg. It is the task of Kevin Nash to try to put a blemish on the 173-0 record of Goldberg and bring the greatest prize in the company back into camp nWo.
And on the other side of things for nWo, we have a match-up that is entirely personal as Eric Bischoff steps into the ring with Ric Flair after months of being at each other's throats. Easy E no doubt has a few tricks up his sleeves as he looks to once again embarrass The Nature Boy in his own domain.
Elsewhere on the show we have DDP taking on The Giant, a triple threat match between Kidman, Rey Mysterio and Juventud Guerrera for the Cruiserweight strap, and Konnan defending the Television Title against Chris Jericho (with Ralphus lest we forget).
After somewhat a tumultuous year where WCW gave up a lot of ground in their war with WWF, will they right the ship tonight, ending the year with a big splash? I'm going to keep it real with you, this card isn't nearly as stacked as you'd imagine it to be (no Hogan, Sting, Luger, Savage or Hall ), so I think the odds aren't exactly in their favor. But, fuck it, let's see what happens tonight!
