Stan Hansen to be inducted into WWE Hall of Fame's Class of 2016

Stan Hansen, Borger, Texas' nastiest resident, will take his place in sports-entertainment history on the eve of WrestleMania 32, when he is inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame's Class of 2016. The news was reported by Tokyo Sports in Japan, the country where Hansen spent most of his storied career. They got exclusive comments from the man known as "The Lariat."

Hansen's journey to the ring began in an unusual place: On the gridiron at West Texas State University, a factory for future wrestlers. When his football days came to an end, Hansen stepped into the squared circle and quickly earned a reputation as one of the most vicious competitors in the sport. Hansen's style of wrestling wasn't technically proficient or beautiful by any stretch of the imagination. It was dirty, gritty and ferocious. And it worked.
From WWE.com.

This is the induction this year that has me genuinely happy. I absolutely love Hansen's work and he is one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. Straight up asskicker who just punched people and kicked ass (mainly because he is blind as a bat). One of the best brawlers ever and probably the quintessential villa in in Japanese wrestling.

Well deserved.

Legitimately one of the most enjoyable talents I've ever seen, one of those guys that gimmicks seem to be made of rather than him being a gimmick.

He could slam giants :hogan:

He could work with one of the greatest brawlers of all time and look exceptional.

It was never a huge strength of his career but he could cut a mean promo also ( I especially enjoyed the part when he's talking about starting the lariat)

One of those guys who's work I go back to repeatedly.

Couldn't agree more. He's one of those awesome talents that has always been great to watch. Also one of those guys I've followed since I was a kid.

Plus he's the man who committed the two legit wrestling injuries that make me shudder to think about: breaking Bruno's neck and poking Vader's eye out of the socket. Eek

Very very deserving and happy he got it.
