The fuck? We don't even get our own review section? Anyways, welcome to the first review (Well, official review) of ROH on HDNet. Scheduled for tonight, an appearance by Ric Flair, and a main event of Austin Aries vs Roderick Strong.

We start the show off with Ric Flair, who puts over the company, the owner and the young talent. He mentions that there might be a Nature Boy in the back, or an HBK in the back, or a HHH in the back (HHH's name, got booed.. obviously). Flair calls out the ROH Champion (That would be Jerry Lynn), and Lynn talks about facing Ric Flair just days after Ric was in a car accident. Austin Aries interrupts, and talks about his past accomplishments in the company. Aries promises to destroy Roderick Strong tonight, and Flair tells him that he hopes Aries can back it up in the ring.

Good opening segment, with everyone delivering on the mic. Flair did a good job of putting the company and the talent over, while both Lynn and Aries also delivered on the mic.

Time for some wrestling, but first some background. Chris Hero is among the biggest names (And most talented) in the independent wrestling scene, he's wrestled in ROH, PWG, CZW, Pro Wrestling NOAH in Japan, among other promotions. Kenny Omega is a former WWE developmental talent (He asked for his release), who mostly wrestles for All Jersey Pro Wrestling, though he has been wrestling in some different promotions in the past year.

Chris Hero (With Shane Hagadorn and Sara Del Ray) vs Kenny Omega (**)

Hero has ditched that awful attire from a couple of weeks back. Lock-up at the start, followed by some mat wrestling. Omega hits a Dropkick that sends Hero to the floor, and follows that up with a No hands dive. Back in the ring, Omega hits a high Crossbody from the top rope, then gets an inside cradle for a two count. Kenny starts flipping around, so Hero grabs him by the hair and slams him down the mat. Hero tosses Omega to the outside, then hits a Dropkick to the ropes. Back in the ring, Hero whips Omega into the corner but is met with a boot afterwards. Omega hits an Enzuguiri, and then a Dragon Suplex for a 2 count. Omega goes for the Electric Chair German, but gets distracted by Sara Del Rey. This allows Hero to put on the loaded elbow pad, and hits a Roaring Elbow on Omega for the three count.

Winner:Chris Hero

Good, action-packed opener. Both men looked good, and Hero gets another win on HDNet.

Backstage, Kyle Durden (The backstage interviewer) interviews Roderick Strong. Roderick talks abut his past history with Aries (They were in the same stable, and were tag champs once upon a time).

Brodie Lee talks some smack prior to his match. Brodie is a 6'6 dude with a trucker gimmick. He works mostly in CHIKARA, though he's been with ROH for the past couple of months. Necro is... Well, he's Necro.

Necro Butcher vs Brodie Lee w/Jimmy Jacobs (**)

Jacobs and Brodie are talking strategy on the outside, so Necro just hits a Senton from the apron on Lee. Some brawling on the outside (The match hasn't started at this point), with Necro hitting some chair shots. Jacobs distracts Necro, which allows Brodie to hit a Black Hole Slam on the steel ramp. Lee carries Necro into the ring, and we are officially under way. Brodie hits some Uppercuts, whips Necro into the corner but misses a Big Boot. Butcher punches and chops Lee in the corner. Necro goes for a Bulldog, but Lee counters and sends him into the corner, then hits a SICK Big Boot. Another Big Boot gets Lee a two count. Jimmy Jacobs gets up on the apron, but his distraction backfires as Necro gets a roll-up for the three count.

Winner:Necro Butcher

Post-Match, Brodie charges at Necro, but gets backdropped to the outside.

Good brawl between two men who are very good at just that. I would have liked for them to have gotten some more time, but this will have to do (Besides, they've had longer matches on some of the DVD's).

Erick Stevens vs Sal Rinauro (SQUASH!)

Pop-Up Powerslam by Stevens, followed by a Release German Suplex, Choo-Choo in the corner, Lariat, Doctor Bomb and this one is over... Really, that was the entire match.

Winner:Erick Stevens

Just a short squash to make Stevens look like a beast. Can't really complain about that.

We get highlights from last week's awesome match between Tyler Black and Bryan Danielson, and they announce a rematch for next week's show. They also announce that Nigel McGuiness will be on next week's show. Time for the main event.

Austin Aries vs Roderick Strong (***1/2)

Aries takes advantage early by working on the arm. Roderick tries to headscissor Aries, but he escapes and hits a Dropkick in Strong's face. Roderick goes for a Chop, so Aries escapes to the outside. Back in the ring, Aries avoids some more Chops, so he goes to the outside and celebrates by running around the ring. Strong gets on the apron, and hits an Elbow Smash to put a stop to AA's shenanigans. Strong slams Aries into the barricade, and sends him into the ring. Aries dropkicks Strong while he was on the apron to send him back outside, then hits a Double Axe Smash from the top rope to the outside (Shade of Randy Savage!). Back in the ring, Aries gets a 1 count off of a one-footed pin attempt. Pendulum Elbow by Aries gets a two count. Strong makes a comeback by hitting a Crossbody, and an Enzuguiri. Strong starts hitting some hard Chops, hits some elbows in the corner, then hits a Backbreaker for a two count. Roderick goes for The Gutbuster, but Aries tosses him to the outside, and hits the Heat Seeking Missile (Suicide Dive between the bottom and middle ropes). Aries sends Strong back into the ring, and follows up with a Slingshot Corkscrew Splash for a 2 count.

Roderick makes a comeback and hits a Full Nelson Backbreaker for yet another near fall. Strong misses on a Yakuza Kick attempt, and Aries locks in The Last Chancery, but Roderick gets to the ropes. Aries goes for the Corner Dropkick, but Strong counters into the Gutbuster, and hits The Yakuza Kick. Roderick locks in The Stronghold (Boston Crab), but Aries makes it to the ropes. AA goes for the Brainbuster, but Strong counters that into the Stronghold, and Aries once again gets to the ropes. Roderick goes for The Gibson Driver, but Aries escapes by hitting a Headscissors, and now AA locks in the Stronghold. Roderick counters into a roll-up for 2. Aries gets up first, kicks Strong in the head, then hits The Brainbuster to get the win.

Winner:Austin Aries

Great main event, with both men countering each other's moves multiple times (Which make sense given the history between both men).

We get promos from Bryan Danielson and Tyler Black talking about their match next weel.

Overall Thoughts:Another week, another solid outing by ROH on HDNet. The opening segment was good and made everyone involved look good. Hero vs Omega was a fun opener, Necro vs Brodie was good, although a bit short. The Stevens-Rinauro match was a flat-out squash, and the Aries-Strong match continued the trend of strong main events for ROH on tv. Thumbs up for this episode.

I'll have to DL this to see RIC FLAIR ON ROH TV~!

Also for Roderick/Aries in the main event. Not surprising it delivered.

Thanks for the review man.

ROH was all right, it was a bit worse than the other shows IMO. The ME was slow for awhile, it was kinda akward watching them at first. Next week should own.

My own personal review of the show.

Opening Segment: Flair/Lynn/Aries

It seemed a bit slow, and the fans didn't seem all that excited to see Flair. He put over the company huge though and everyone was at least solid on the mic. Aries getting a verbal rub by Flair helps him alot on TV.

Opener: Omega Vs. Hero

I actually really liked this match. For not knowing who Kenny Omega was, I think he's got a bright future in Ring of Honor. He's like the white Kofi Kingston. Chris Hero with his unique style of offense as usual, and the commentary back and forth between Hodge and Praz seemed to be hotter than ever with them arguing over the elbow. Very solid opener, kept me interested in the show.

Segment: Roderick Strong promo

Not much to say here, it was what it was. Basic hype for the main event.

Necro Vs. Lee

I have to disagree with SP here, this match was sloppy, in more ways than one. The black hole slam on the ramp seemed out of place and oversold for as weak looking as it was. They had some cool big boot spots but overall this was just massively sloppy with alot of slow and stalled moves. I know Brodie can do better than this and I know Necro can too. Give these guys a hardcore match with about 7-10 minutes more time and I would be happy. Necro was massively over with the crowd.

Erick Stevens Promo:
Basic putting over of himself.

Erick Stevens Vs. Sal Rinauro

Sal selling those moves like a champ making Stevens look real good. I'd like to see some singles competition with some real wrestlers though against Stevens to back up the hype he got tonight.

Austin Aries Vs. Roderick Strong

This was a really nice match. I love how ROH makes it a POINT to really highlight their hour long broadcasts with near twenty minute matches. You don't get that kind of action on a regular basis with WWE and TNA. Aries got DESTROYED in this match, Strong really messed him up. I love the selling of the chops, really put over Aries quickness and manuevering while putting over how dangerous Strong is even to a World Title contender. Really nothing bad I can say about this match at all. Very nicely done for ROH.

Overall I enjoyed this show, the only blotch for me was Necro Vs. Brodie. I know these guys can do better than that. But otherwise the matches all served a purpose and even if the winners were a little heel heavy tonight, it made sense and really was just all around great wrestling this week.
