Welcome to the RAW Review! After a week off, I am back, and it seems that the big news is that John Cena has suffered a neck injury. What does that mean for Unforgiven? Read on and find out.

We start off RAW with the champ, and we'll go straight into out first contest.

CM Punk vs John Bradshaw Layfield (Non-Title Match)

JBL starts early with his usual clubbing offense on Punk. CM comes back with kicks and forearms, then hits a Dropkick that sends Bradshaw to the outside. Punk follows up with a Suicide Dive, then tosses JBL back in the ring and hits a Crossbody from the top rope for a 2 count. Punk gets tossed out by JBL, but he skins the cat to get back in the ring... Only to get hit with a Big Boot which sends him back outside.

COMMERCIAL!!!

JBL has a Bearhug locked in on Punk, then follows that up with a Back Suplex. Bradshaw now hits another Suplex and gets a two count. He locks in an Abdominal Stretch, then turns that into yet another near-fall. JBL continues to dominate, then sets up Punk on the top rope, but Punk counters into a Tornado DDT for a 2 count. Punk comes back and with Slaps, a Backfist, and a Kick to the head, followed by the Springboard Clothesline for yet another near-fall. CM hits the Running Knee-Bulldog Combo in the corner and gets ANOTHER 2 count. GTS attempt is blocked by JBL, who hits the Clothesline from Hell, but Punk manages to survive by putting his hand on the bottom rope. JBL leaves the ring and gets a chair, but it is taken away by the ref. He walks into the Go To Sleep and this one is over!

Winner:CM Punk
Match Rating:*** (Probably their best match against one another)

COMMERCIAL!!

THE Mike Adamle is out, and he shows a replay of the Batista/Cena match from SS, and announces that Cena suffered a herniated disk due to the Batista Bombs. He mentions that Cena will NOT wrestle at Unforgiven, but that he will announce a suitable replacement.

Backstage, Kane cuts a promo and says that he likes inflicting pain on people. He's obviously ripping off Snitsky :shifty:.

Back, backstage, and Adamle is with Primo Colon. He apologizes for blowing him off last week and tells Primo that he will have a match tonight. Colon cuts a promo saying that he is nothing like his brother.

COMMERCIAL!!!

Beth Phoenix vs Kelly Kelly (Non-Title Match)

Beth overpowers Kelly at the start, until she he hits a sloppy kick that actually busts open Phoenix. Kelly goes for a Handspring Elbow, Santino moves Beth out of the way but Kelly manages to get a SNEAKY ROLL-UP for the win!

Winner:Kelly Kelly
Match Rating:1/4*

COMMERCIAL!!!

We get our weekly 24-7 video, and this one shows Bret Hart vs Mr.Perfect which took place in 1989.

Charlito vs Primo Colon

Charlito is Haas, wearing a Carlito wig (And using his moves and music). Primo is Eddie Colon, aka Carlito's younger brother. Primo stars off fast with a Hurracanrana from the top. Haas takes over, until he goes for the apple. Colon hits a Clothesline, a Dropkick and follows that up with a Monkey Flip (And there goes Charlito's wig!). Primo misses a Splash in the corner, but recovers to go up top and hit The Generic Rookie Finisher # 11, also known as a Crossbody for the win.

Winner:primo Colon
Match Rating:*

COMMERCIAL!!!

We are back, and Shawn Michaels is out. He states that he is not going anywhere due to what Chris Jericho did. Jericho pops up on the Tron, and says that Shawn is lucky because Chris was told not to show up on RAW tonight. Shawn challenges Jericho at Unforgiven, and he accepts the match HBK says that at Unforgiven, it will be an eye for an eye. Jericho was VERY ANGRY in this promo. How angry? THIS ANGRY!!!

ANGER!!!!!

We get a replay of Cryme Tyme stealing the tag title last week. We also get a replay of Cody slapping Lawler a while back, which leads us to our next match.

Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase vs Jerry Lawler and Jim Duggan

This wasn't all that bad, still not gonna recap it thought. Simply Priceless get the win after Dibiase locks in The Million Dollar Dream on Hacksaw, then turns it into a Leg Sweep.

Winners:Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase
Match Rating:*1/4

Post-Match, Rhodes and Dibiase called Cryme Tyme criminals. Cryme Tyme interrupt from the skybox, and nention that they want a shot at the titles. Diabiase accepts the match, and tells CT that they have no idea what they just got into.

Backstage, The Grish is with Batista. He says that he respects John Cena, and wishes him luck with the surgery. He mentions that his match tonight against Kane isn't about titles, its PERSONAL.

COMMERCIAL!!!

Santino Marella vs Kofi Kingston (IC Title Match)

Good, short match. Santino was in control early, but Kofi bounces back with his usual array of offensive manuevers. He hits a Russian Leg Sweep, then follows up with the Boop Boop Leg-Drop, and Santino rolls out of the ring. Beth Phoenix is out, and Kingston tosses Santino back in the ring. Beth trips up Kofi, who falls face first into Santino's knee, and that leads to the pin (And win) by Marella.

Winner:Santino Marella
Match Rating:**

Post-Match, Beth forces Santino into the corner, then kisses him. Santino turns the tables and tries to eat Beth's face.. Oh wait, he actually kissed her too.

COMMERCIAL!!!

We are back and Cole and Lawler hype up the WWE's activity at the Republican and Democratic conventions. Mike Adamle comes out, and says that Rey Mysterio will replace John Cena in the Championship Scramble.

Cole and Lawler run down the card for Unforgiven, and it is time for our main event.

Batista vs Kane

We get a PERSONAL lock-by both men at the start. Batista takes over, and goes for a Batista Bomb, but Kane escapes. Batista hits a couple of Clotheslines, the second one which sends Kane to the outside.

COMMERCIAL!!!

We are back and Kane has taken over. He works over Batista's leg for a long while. Kane locks in a Leg Submission, but Batista manages to counter that into an Armbar, until Kane gets to the ropes. Kane hits a Chop Block on the Animal, then goes for another one but is taken down by a Clothesline. Batista hits a Powerslam, then hits a Drop-Toehold which sends Kane face first to the Turnbuckle. Batista runs into a Chokeslam attempt, but escapes and hits a Spinebuster. He goes for the Batista Bomb, but Kane escapes and smashes Batista's leg into the ring post. He grabs a chair and uses it on Batista's knee, and we have a DQ.

Winner:Batista (Via DQ)
Match Rating:*3/4[(Mostly for the post-match)

Post-Match, Kane continues his assault on The Animal. Back in the ring, Batista manages to hit a Big Boot on Kane, then follows up with a Spear. Batista now has the chair in hand, and he assaults Kane! Batista wraps Kane's leg around the ring post, and starts delivering chair shots to Kane's leg, until Batista collapses due to his own injury as the show comes to an end.

Overall Thoughts:A HUGE improvement from last week's crappy episode. We had two long (Though Kane vs Batista wasn't all that good) matches with the opener, and the main event. We got a lot of angle advancement, as well as a couple of new matches added to the Unforgiven card. I have to mention it, the Cena injury is a big blow to RAW (Regardless of how you feel about him), and an already thinned out roster now finds itself with another main eventer on the sidelines. Rey Mysterio as a replacement is a good choice.. as long as HE doesn't get hurt too. Still, a solid show for RAW this week, and a slight thumbs up.

Remember to read Kaedon's SD review, and his NSZ, as well as TJ's ECW review, and BKB's Impact review. Until next week, I am out!

Yup. Batista mentioned in his promo that this match was "personal", so what do we get? A lot of headlocks and submissions. Add in the fact that the match was slow and plodding, and you have a pretty lousy main event.

Nice review SP. I really agree on the main event. If it was truly that personal, why did it only become violent after the match? I blame Kane for this, because as the veteran, he should have guided Batista.

Did anyone think the debut of Primo Colon was good? It seemed really weak to me, with the generic debuting finish.

I'm officially going to steal this and use this in different forums whenever someone is pissed.

But besides that, great review. Nothing I didn't really disagree with.
