I am back after a one-week hiatus due to problems. Despite the fact that both Detroit teams were playing on Monday, I was looking forward to RAW. Word going around is that "Major shakeups" are in order, and this show could be the start of the that. Enough of this, let's go to the review.

Vince Mcmahon is on the titantron. He says that Regal got what he deserved last week, and that this week, Vince will show his appreciation to us, the fans. He also promises to do something that has never been done before in the HISTORY of television.

HHH comes out and we are going to have ourselves a little face-off prior to ONS. Randy Orton comes out next (With his crappy music). Orton basically runs down HHH and all of his antics in the past (Including turning on Orton). I won't recap the promo word by word, but I will say this... It was far and away Orton's best promo ever, and HHH wasn't that bad either. It made a damn good job of hyping up their match on Sunday, so no complaints here.

COMMERCIAL!!!!

We are back and we get the annoucement of an I Quit match at One Night Stand between Beth Phoenix and Melina (Poor Melina, she's going to get killed). Beth is out for commentary and it is time for the first match of the night.

Melina vs Jillian Hall

Jillian "sings" her version of No Chance in Hell as a way to show Melina what her odds are of winning on Sunday. Jillian is on the offensive early, as she spears Melina and clobbers her with rights. Jillian sends Melina to the corner and hits the Handspring Elbow (Shades of Muta!) followed by a Neckbreaker. Melina comes back with some kicks, until Jillian answers with a kick of her own. Jillian goes for a Fireman's Carry but Melina escapes and locks Jillian in the California Dreams/Muta Lock/Horns of Aries for the submission win.

Winner:Melina

To the back, where Chris Jericho joins Vince McMahon and gives him an idea... Jericho vs Michaels, the rematch. Vince likes that idea, and agrees to the match. Cryme Tyme show up and steal all of the paintings for an "auction".

COMMERCIAL!!!

Hardcore Holly and Cody "The Caw" Rhodes vs Paul London and Brian Kendrick

London gets Dropkicked early on by Cody and tags in Kendrick. Paul and Brian take over with some double-team moves, and Kendrick gets a Crucifix-pin for a two count. Cody tags in Holl who clubbers Kendrick and almost takes his head off with a Clothesline. Cody is back in and he applies a reverse bear hug, until Kendrick escapes. Hot tag by both men and London knocks down Holly with a pair of Dropkicks then hits a Standing Hurracanrana. Holly tosses London out of the ring, but he skins the cat... and lands right into the Alabama Slam position. Holly hits the move, and this one is over.

Winners:Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes

After the match. Ted Diabetes (Or Dibiase >_>) comes out and he introduces us to his son Ted Orton Jr.... I mean, Ted Dibiase Jr. (He didn't actually say Jr.). Jr. says he wants to be a champion like his father and says that he will become a champion because while everyone has a price, he is simply priceless. Good promo from the kid.

We get a video package of Piper training Cousin Sal, and I pay no attention to it.

COMMERCIAL!!!

We are back and now the bootylicious Mickie James (MOAR LIEK THICKIE JAMES. Cause she's thick) who's with Vince discussing random ideas. JBL interrupts and takes a shot at Ashly somewhere in there and also says something about Cena's blood.

The Troops (THAT SHOULD BE HOME BY NOW!!) send messages to their family. Classy move by Vince.

Time for our first main event of the evening.

John Cena and Jeff Hardy vs Umaga and JBL

Cena and JBL starts us off, but JBL quickly tags in Umaga. Cena and Umaga slug it out at the start and Cena goes for the FU, but Umaga manages to get out of it. Umaga charges at Cena in the corner, but Cena dodges it and walks right into the Spinning Uranage by Umaga which gets him a 2 count.

COMMERCIAL!!

We are back and Jeff is tagged in. He's like a house of fire (Trailer of fire?). Jeff goes for the Twist of Fate but it gets countered. Jeff goes for the apron and looks like he's going for a Springboard move, but Umaga just shoves him to the outside. Back in the ring and Umaga hits a Splash, followed by the tag to JBL. JBL with his usual slow-motion offense and locks in an Abdominal Stretch, but Jeff gets to the ropes. Jeff with the comeback and hits The Whisper of the Wind out of nowhere (That's a lie, it was from the top-rope). Jeff makes the tag to Cena hits JBL with a Clothesline, a Protobomb and the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Umaga attacks Cena from behind and Hardy tags himself in. Jeff goes for the Swanton but misses, and JBL hits the Clothesline from Hell for the win.

Winners:Umaga and JBL

Shawn is in the back with Vince, and Vince says that when the night is over, even he (Shawn) will have to give the devil his due.

COMMERCIAL!!

We are back and we get clips of WWE's trip to Mexico, including the debut of a luchador version of DX.

Mr Kennedy is out and he will be in action next as we get clips from last week's match between he and Regal.

Mr.Kennedy vs Carlito

Carlito misses a Springboard Elbow early and Kennedy goes for The Mic Check, but Carlito counters and hits The Roll of the Dice for 2. Ortonlock by Carlito until Kennedy escapes and hits a Roundhouse Kick and then a Clothesline. Green Bay Plunge by Kennedy gets a 2 count. Kennedy goes for the Facewash but Carlito counters with a Snap Powerslam. Carlito is signaling for the Backstabber, but Kennedy elbows out and hits The Mic Check out of nowhere for the win.

Winner:Mr.Kennedy

Katie Lea.. Before I carry on. TO THE PEOPLE ON THE SB LAST NIGHT. YOU SAY SHE HAS A MAN JAW (And you're right) BUT YOU'D HIT IT, ADMIT IT!

Back on topic. Katie Lea is not amused by Kennedy's action from last week and she says that Kennedy has made an enemy. Burchill attacks Kennedy from behind, and hits a Neckbreaker followed by The Curb Stomp. WE HAVE A FEUD!

COMMERCIAL!!

Backstage, Vince continues to hype up his announcement. Trevor Murdoch was in the office, but I missed the exchange between the two.

King and JR run-down the lineup for One Night Stand and then we get a nifty video package highlighting the feud between Orton and HHH. Also, more soldiers saying Hi to their families. Time for our main event.

Chris Jericho vs Shawn Michaels (Non-Title Match)

They trade headlocks and counters at the start and we get an... INDY FACE-OFF!! Shawn hits a Hip-Toss but runs right into a Jericho elbow. Jericho goes for the Springboard Dropkick from the apron but Shawn sees it coming and Chris is sent flying to the outside.

COMMERCIAL!!!

We are back and Jericho has Shawn locked in an Ortonlock. Shawn elbows out, hits some Chops and gets a Backslide for a two count. Jericho comes back and hits an Enzuguiri then chokes out Shawn in the corner with his boot. Jericho goes for the Bulldog but Shawn counters and hits The Atomic Drop, The Flying Forearm and he kips up. Jericho goes for the Walls but Shawn counters with a roll-up for two. Both men are up and Jericho hits a Clothesline but misses on the Lionsault attempt. Shanw goes up top and HE misses on with the Elbow Drop. Jericho goes for The Codebreaker, but Shawn counters. He goes for some Sweet Chin Music but Jericho sees it coming and locks in the Walls but Shawn makes it to the ropes. Jericho kicks Shawn to the floor where he locks in the Walls of Jericho once again. The ref is out and we get a Double-Countout (BOOOOOOOO!).

Winner:No one via Double Countout

Jericho continues to attack Shawn after the bell, grabs a chair but decides not to clobber Shawn with it. Chris helps Shawn get up and throws the chair away as he leaves the ring area.

COMMERCIAL!! Vince's MEGA-HUGE-SUPER announcement is up next!

Vince is out and to put over how "Huge" the announcement is, we see the entire RAW roster standing on the ramp. In 4 weeks we will have a draft (Also known as the day of the year where SD gets raped!). But, wait.... There's more. Vince says that he will give out 100 grand every week for 10 weeks (That's a million bucks total, by the way). And that's it.

Seriously, all that hype to have Vince come out and say, we're lazy, so we're having a draft and we'll give away money in hopes of getting better ratings.

Overall Thoughts: Other than the anti-climatic ending, this was a damn fine show and one of the best this year. As I stated already, the opening promo did a good job of hyping up the WWE title match without having a pull-apart brawl, or any physical contact for that matter. Jillian vs Melina was done to hype up Melina's match with Beth and also to show that Melina has a submission that she can use against Beth. The tag-match was good while it lasted, and though I don't like having London and Kendrick job (Especially when they could be contenders for the straps), WWE made up for it by debuting Dibiase Jr and having him announce that he's going after the tag titles.

Cena-Hardy vs JBL-Umaga was another solid match which also helped to build up their respective matches at ONS. Also, Cena lost and who doesn't like that? Mr.Kennedy vs Carlito was sloppy at times, but even that match was passable. Of course, I loved the post-match angle because it gives both Kennedy and Burchill something to do, not to mention that it shows continuity by having Paul go after the man who cost Regal his job. Jericho vs Michaels was great and was looking like it would equal their match at Judgment Day.... But the Double Count-Out just ruined the match. I know they wanted to protect both men, but why not have Jericho win the match and even the score? Oh right, its Jericho and god forbid he win a big match :shifty:

And finally, we get Vince's huge announcement and it was a DUD! I'm all for the draft (Again, provided that SD doesn't get raped) but the money things just reeks of desperation on Vince's part. Still, not even that was enough to ruin the show. Easy thumbs up for RAW this week.

Hey, you! Remember to read Kaedon's NSZ (HE POSTED A NEW ONE RECENTLY!) and his Smackdown review.

Until next week, I am out! PS:Go Pistons and Wings!

Good review SP. But I still dont get how him giving out money shows he wants ratings? It wont make any more people watch the show, cause we at home cant get the money, so if anything, it improves arena attendance, but thats already fine. People need to cut Vince a break...
Anyways, good review as usual:)

^^^ My problem isn't mostly with the announcement, but more with the all the hype it got. They made it sounds like we would get a naked wrestling match between Melina and Mickie, and instead we got.. A giveaway. It just felt underwhelming.

Also, I was surprised at the lack of Batista on this show. They seem to ignore the brand split all the time, yet this week (Where it would have made sense for Batista to show up) they decided to pretty much ignore the Batista/Shawn match that they'll have on Sunday.

Lol, ya I guess I know what you mean abou tit not being as huge as it sounded, but again, I just see people talking about ratings, and I dont see the logic there... But it was underwhelming.

And I agree about the Batista thing, he shouldve came out and try to hit Shawn with a chair and then Y2J tries to stop him, so Batista takes out Jericho and HBK. IDK, but it just seemed like the match was for nothing since Batista didnt come up.
Anyways, Im dont clogging up your thread with posts :D

It seems that they want to "surprise" us more, as it would have been not a surprise if Batista actually appeared tonight. I was expecting him to show up. But i think, this is just to make things more "unpredictable" in WWE these days.

:smh @ WWE burying their Women's Champion by calling her a hooker and saying she has sexual relations with Cena.

Good review Mr. Power. :y:
