Ironically, the latest edition of the Inside Wrestling/The Wrestler double issue (from the people behind Pro Wrestling Illustrated), which came out last week, has a cover story on the supposed SmackDown title curse. It features Edge on the cover alongside a few smaller pictures of Undertaker, Batista and King Booker. The individual pictures have X-marks over the respective pictures with the specific injury over the X-mark. The title reads: THE SMACKDOWN CURSE - This Is The Title You Don't Want To Win!. The gist of the story asks if there is a hex on people who win the SmackDown title. They say that a number of champions have been infected by a rash of injuries shortly after they became champions and they wonder if Edge wants to risk his career by holding this "cursed belt." The story then points out all the injuries these guys suffered after winning the belt.

Khali is the most logical choice to be the WHC, it must be said. WWE want a heel Champion and Khali is the only credible heel on the brand (dominant, only lost to Undertaker/Cena and off the heels of a WWE Title programme). Also, there is no question that he is more than worthy to challenge/hold the title. If Kane can, without any sort of build up, credibility or momentum, then so can Khali, the one man wrecking machine (Khali also defeated Kane at Mania, which shows his dominance over him).

It actually makes the Batista/Khali match at GAB interesting too...

Note: It is true, there is a curse on the World Title (when on SD!). Look at the guys who have held it and either suffered major injuries ... or died:

- Edge
- Undertaker
- Kurt Angle
- Batista
- JBL
- Eddie Guerrero

If the smackdown title is a curse and khali wins it. Does'nt that mean he gets injured within a few weeks of being champion. I hope so:). I hope we never see khali ever again.

Then Henry would win the title.
Then Masters.
Then CM Punk !!

Who loses his legs and has to vacate the title ...

You completely forgot to mention one man who is probably more credible and ready and you know, DESERVING of the title on that list. Which is no other than, MARK HENRY! If this is true, this is indeed bullshit, and Khali has done absolutely shit to deserve this, when they have someone just as credible, more scarier, better on the mic, and loyal to the company for 10 years who could carry the title and be the 'dominant' heel champion they want...

Wow, just wow. This is why I don't watch SD anymore. I think its more than fair to say that the title match at GAB is going to a huge suckfest.

The little place in the back of your mind that you
that sucks about Kane and Batista losing. I thought that Kane might win the title now that Edge was out of the picture but they have to give it to the next WORST thing in the world. I mean the champion doesn't even speak english now and he is a lousy wrestler with a prestigious title.

Mark Henry is more deserving/credible? I would beg to differ. If this situation would have happened during his last run on SD!, I'd have given him the belt. No doubt. He had a really good heel run on the brand and was a credible ME star. However, since he returned, he has nothing, apart from randomly defeating Kane at a PPV and then dissappearing again. You say he has been 'loyal' to WWE for ten years. He wrestled about 50 times during that period becuase he was always injured! And when he was healthy, he was injuring everyone else!

Whether you like it or not, Khali is a credible Champion, due to the way he has been booked in recent months. He may not be a fan favourite, do moonsaults off the top rope, he might not even be any good, but you cannot deny, that he has been booked amazingly in recent months and that alone, brought him this World Title run.
