They did it to try, and it failed, it happens sometimes sadly, but you know what they say, shit happens.

Ethan Page is a 17-year veteran who’s worked both TNA for years as well as AEW until he signed with NXT. He’s not in the same boat as Trick.

If Ethan didn’t sign, I’m sure Shawn had another plan. Maybe spears would’ve won.

God, I would hope not. I'm not a fan of them undercutting the era of Trick after hyping it up for a guy who signed a month ago, he must be doing some serious ass kissing to be on top this quick. I think he's good, but he's not THAT good.

As for Trick himself, he’s over, but he seemingly needs more seasoning. If not tonight, he probably lost at Great American Bash, regardless.

I'm not sold on Ethan being the NXT champion already, in ring work isn't the most important aspect of wrestling, I don't care how much more seasoning he needs.

Ethan Page is a great wrestler and has tons of charisma. Dude has a wide reach cuz of his vlogs and at one point had the the top selling figure on ringside collectibles he’s very much over.

I fail to see why I should consider anyone else's opinion but my own, it's not like it's gonna change my mind. I just did this to vent. I think this dude is doing some serious ass kissing, he's just not THAT good to already be on top.

Couple different factors in play.

Shawn is obviously a fan of Page.

And as @Bad News Booty and I have mentioned before, Trick isn’t ready to be “The Guy” on any brand, even developmental. He’s still green.

I think @Hidden Blaze eventually gets his wish and Wes is the one to take the belt off Page
