Somoa Joe/WWE Update

Trusted insider sources tells PWTorch columnist Sean Radican that Samoa Joe has signed a full-time contract with WWE. His merchandise sales were so off-the-charts impressive, Vince McMahon and Triple H pushed to get him signed to a full-time deal right away.

Obviously, he impressed everyone at the latest NXT TV tapings. He will fulfill his scheduled independent dates, but otherwise will be worked into the WWE schedule full-time, either starting in NXT or shifting quickly to the WWE main roster.

One of the independent dates that Joe will be finishing up is with AIW, who just announced Joe for their "Absolution" show on July 10 in Cleveland, Ohio.

An interesting turn. Your thoughts?

No way they wanted Joe airing on ROH TV at the same time. Also just makes NXT a stronger touring brand. Would guess rhino gets locked down too. But yeah him doing good sales didnt hurt, but it had a lot to do with ROH IMO as they rather his face be associated with NXT

WWE should have took advantage of Samoa Joe after his match with Kenta Kobashi. It's 10 years later now. He still has some name value but Jesus capatilizin' on it now is just like showin' up to a party and everyone is already leavin' and the liquor has already been drank.

People become better workers when they get older. Just because a guy did a cirque du soleil routine in his twenties. Doesn't make them great.

Also Fit Finlay was as old as Flair and had a pretty good run in WWE.

Yeah, you can't really base Joe's worth off his last few years in TNA because you know they kill wrestler's motivation.
