In the term SODA-POP, Soda comes first. Which means adding pop or just calling it pop in unecessary.
Pop came from the sound you make when opening the actual beverage....which is SODA.

lol no we don't drink all that Soda-Pop *just to make both parties happy*.. people collect them for us over time and not all of them are fom soda-pop. some are from beers and cans of Arizona tea's...

and some say soda.. some say pop.. depends on where you're from.. same with a sub/grinder/hoagie.
