The year is 2009, wrestling has a new direction.

Background - In 2001 WCW went bankrupt, while ECW got a secret investor. This kept ECW a float. In 2002 a promotion called TNA started up but within a couple of years the promotion died out due to lack of funds and lack of people attending shows. Several other promotions tried to take the lucrative third spot including ROH, Chikara, JCW, CZW and PWG but non of them could meet up to the standards that ECW had set in the 1990’s for being the third most powerful wrestling company in America. In 2004 a promotion started up in Chicago, Illinois known as Society of Wrestling. The y were financed by Thomas Siebel a Billionaire from Chicago who agree to deals to make the Society of Wrestling as the third largest company in America. He also created links in Britain, Europe, Asia and Australia so the Society of Wrestling could pick up as a major wrestling organisation. Several wrestlers signed multi year contracts including CM Punk, Samoa Joe, AJ Styles, Arik Cannon, Nigel McGuiness and Teddy Hart amongst others.

Tag Teams/Stables

The BLKOUT - Homicide, Ruckus and Sabian. These three men have brought terror through out the SOW organisation and will stop at nothing. Thy use hardcore wrestling styles to get what they want. They are former SOW Tag team and television champions. These three men have shed lots of blood throughout SOW.

The Empire - Drew Galloway, Nigel McGuiness, Paul Burchill, Sheamus O’Shaunessy and Katie Lea. The group started in 2007 and soon became a force in SOW. They’ve helped McGuiness to the world championship and television championship. Galloway and O’Shaunessy have teamed up several times in SOW gunning for their first tag titles. Former members include PAC, David Baptie, Bingo Balance and Rebecca Knox.

The Harts - Harry Smith, Teddy Hart, TJ Wilson and Natalie Neidhart. They formed in Stamped Wrestling in 2000 and haven’t looked back since, everyone in the team except Natalie has won a title in SOW. TJ Wilson isn’t recognised as full Hart by Teddy Hart, as he is only dating Natalie.


The Hooliganz - Brian Kendrick and Paul London. They formed as a tag team in early 2000’s after both left the Texas Wrestling Academy. Both have been competing in SOW’s tag division and it’s Freestyle division.

Team MACKtion - Kirby and TJ Mack . After receiving training from tag team experts the Hardy Boyz the two started teaming in 2000. They joined SOW in late 2007 and are hunting for there first reign as SOW tag Team Champions.

Murder City Machineguns - Formed in 2005 over in Japan at Zero 1. They’ve had success in both America and Japan. They are the current holders of the SOW Tag Team Championship and are in there first reign as champion.

The Young Bucks - Matt and Nick Jackson. Formed 2004, the brothers have been a huge success throw out America’s independent circuit as well as some success in Japan. The former tag team champions are looking to climb back up the ladder of success in SOW.

Alliances

Matt Sydal and Lizzy Valentine - Boyfriend and Girlfriend. Dominant mixed tag team in SoW.

CM Punk and Arik Cannon - Mutual Respect due to both of them living the same lifestyle.

Teddy Hart and Jack Evans - Mutual Respect, formed in Canada where Teddy trained and tagged with Jack Evans.
