...sitting here watching Raw, and it's been announced that Orton will defend the title against Batista at Extreme Rules against Batista in a cage. Guess MVP won't take advantage, although they...

...now Cena comes out :(.

Fuck the WWE! Why Cena (RUNNING!? and fine!?), and not MVP :(.

Fuck this!

No they didn't. MVP is just fine where he is. He hasn't been around that long yet, and his progress is going steady. Even that losing streak didn't ruin him. MVP is bright, talented, impressive, and he's going up. But we all seen with previous superstars that up too fast leads to a bad fall. Patience grasshopper...MVP's star is shining, no super novas(no reference to that guy from the old ECW) in the forecast

Cena coming out on Raw surpised me but didn't at the same time. I expeced him to get involved in the Orton/Batista saga. I thought they should wait until his feud with Big Show is over though. He seems to be in 2...maybe 3 if you count the Miz as a feud( I loved the Miz' promo...nerd life...PWNAGE). Cena will most likely beat show in his classic Superman sytle at Extreme Rules and then feud with Orton.

Cena shouldn't be in this feud at all. It's bullshit left and right!

And I'm not saying MVP has to win the title at Extreme Rules, but they should have carried his program over to be a part of a Main Event feud which he's already gotten involved in.

Why couldn't MVP run to the ring to help Batista and Ric Flair? Why did it have to be Cena. Now, after Extreme Rules... Cena wins with his fluke ass Clark Kent interviews and Superman fights, and then he's taking over the feud with Legacy until Triple H comes back and blames Batista and tells him he couldn't get the job done, and Flair gets confused and torn between 'em, and Triple H goes Cerebral Assassin badass tweener on everyone including Cena, which leads to epic #1 contender match that gets interfered in by Orton/Legacy, and then a fatal-four way for the title with Flair as special guest ref and he screws everyone over and keeps the title on Orton's shoulder.

...then Cena picks up with Orton while Flair stays busy with Batista and Trips.

...fucking bullshit!

Why are they putting the number 1 draw in the company in a feud for the world title over an unproven draw that gets a mediocre face reaction? It sure is a chin scratcher.

Just get him into that fued with Regal pronto.... As another hated JBL-esque type figure, he's just the kinda guy to help get MVP over more with the fans.

Yet to see raw, so dunno how shitty it did or didn't pan out with Cena doing the run in, but for those knocking his being back in the title picture: a question....

What would you alternatively propose doing with Cena once he's done with Big Show in a few weeks?

(Please spare me all the outlandish booking/writing ideas... Just a name would do the trick... Thx.)

He could have jumped in once he's finished with Show. But why is he automatically thrust into the title picture while he's in the middle of his feud with Show?

And they could have had him compete with MVP for the #1 contender spot to keep them both in the picture.

I meant in a different way than he's done before. Like kept him running around the ring during that time when gewas trying to get counted out, and then slithered back into the ring at the last half second to get Batista counted out or something like that. Or even pulled an Eddie like Cody did and gotten Batista DQ'd.

...And this would have brought about what difference exactly?

Like I said, his fued with Show will more likely be over in a 2/3 weeks.

And they could have had him compete with MVP for the #1 contender spot to keep them both in the picture.

I can hear the shouts of "Fuck Cena, this time he's burried MVP" already!

Serious, I'm a big fan of MVP - He's one of my faves - but hasty booking will do him no favours what-so-ever.

A couple of big victorys as US champ, before being cheated out of the title and moving on to work his way up to the level where he's likely to be considered by the GM for contendership matches... Is what's in order.

He's gonna drown in the ME scene in the second part of the year once HHH & HBK have returned and hit full stride again and this is why (as stated above somewhere) it seems better to me that he plays the waiting game that little bit longer.... Let's face it he did fuck all on SD last year apart from bring a spark of interest to the SD EC match at NWO and then embark on this shitty losing-streak/face-turn angle.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say we're not gonna see him reach the title this year, but perhaps a MITB win next year...as that really seems to be their favorite way of pushing people now.

I thought MVP was a better choice for MITB this year then Punk. It would have made alot more sense to have him win it being that they want to give him a ME push. But I think that Cena is alot more tolerable when he is not in the title picture, after his feud with Show i think he should turn The Miz' promos into a actual feud, even if just for a few weeks and not 100% bury Miz. But showcase the Miz' talents much like he did for Swagger at the Draft.

Well, Smackdown needed an instant fix for their main event, not having tons of big names and all. The briefcase would have been completely pointless on RAW.

Precisely. You can have Cena in the upper-midcard and not completely bury him being the face. Have him dispose of the competition, keeping him out of the US Title picture himself, and when he returns to the top, he'll be what people want. They asked for this when they decided it was the time for Orton to shine and Triple H had to come back to Raw.

I like where Cena's at right now, and they can use him to build some guys up and start some backstories for when he does get the title back, he'll have some good feuds with guys like The Miz if Miz gets to that level. It's bullshit to completely flood both major storylines of Raw since the draft occurred. We get it, he's the face of the WWE... but the face of every feud now?

It's great that Cena is willing to stay out of the title picture for a while. The guy is never going to lose momentum and credability by hanging around the mid card for a while. He's honestly besides HBK the best bet on RAW to put people over right now. Leave him here until fall and then insert him back into the title picture...his popularity will grow even more monstrous..guarenteed.

Yes, Most guys (with a few execptions Rock, HHH Hogan) who were the biggest names in the E weren't always in the title picture. If Cena is used correctly for a few months really to legitmize the mid card guys, guys like The Miz, Matt Hardy etc. It could help the WWE in the long run.

Plus, I do not think all of the Cena hate has 100% stopped. I still am not a Cena fan personally but I do not mind him NEARLY as much as a few years ago. I can still feel a distant but still present hate towards him by a section of people whenever I watch Raw. Keeping him out of the main event for a few months will help him drastically.
