Austin was full fledged face when Bret turned obviously.

And the days of heel/face stopped when the audience changed.

Totally agree with Flywalker on this one. Another thing is that the audience has changed again since the attitude era, and with WWE now more aimed at kids then logic would have it than the lines between good and bad are less blurred than ten years ago. No one is saying you can't do face vs. face, but that has always been the case, with the right booking you can do anything.

Also wrestling goes in cycles and while you can have a period of anti-heroes and no faces or heels at some point it has to go back.

How many times does the company have to say the days heels and faces are an outdated concept? Just because fans like using old inside terms doesn't mean the company has to keep following information that old and tired shit.

Because them saying it doesn't mean shit because they still book heels and faces. If they didn't care about heels or faces then why would they make big deals out of heel/face turns? If they didn't care about heels and faces why would they turn Orton heel just to be apart of the authority angle? Why would they turn Batista heel because the fans don't give two shits about him?

Heels and faces still exist and always will exist.

There will always be the villain/hero aspect to wrestling no matter what you want to believe. Just cause sometimes the guy who should be cheered gets booed or vice versa doesn't mean it the concept of face/heel is obsolete. If that was the case we wouldn't still get face and heel turns and obvious ploys for a guy to get cheered or to get booed.

Alright guys, just say "guys who are supposed to be cheered" and "guys who are supposed to be booed" from now on.

Outdated inside terms, nobody uses them but marks who think they know more than do. The company doesn't use the terms, and they don't book shit 80s style. There are no clear cut white meat babyfaces or clearcut heels, why the fuck does Orton and the authority always appear to not be known the same Page?

Clear cut white meat baby face - Cena
Clearcut Heel - Triple H

You lose. It's not an outside inside term. You could ask any wrestler in the world right now if heels and faces exist and they would say yes.

Power Slam magazine still uses the terms, and say what you will about them (and I know you don't like them) they can't be described as marks.

Like Tapout said just because they don't use the term doesn't mean they don't book babyfaces and heels. In fact they didn't even use the term in the 80's.

Triple H isn't a clearcut heel, he isn't 98 Vince. Ask a wrestler? I said WWE, don't use outdated lingo. Learn to read before you assume shit.

A magazine is your counter point? Apter was a mark and so is Meltzer. People who follow wrestling but never ran ropes don't know shit.

Fine in that case since you have never worked in the business then we can't take your opinion seriously either.

Of course what you are saying is a bit like saying that a film critic has no right to comment on film just because they have never made one. The argument doesn't work.

I just don't see what's so bad about still using the terms faces and heels because they're obviously still a thing even if WWE doesn't acknowledge it and says it's out of date. Orton obviously turned heel at SummerSlam. Punk obviously turned heel when he attacked Rock and aligned with Heyman. Titus obviously turned heel when he attacked Darren. Face turns are a little less obvious, but Cody is a good example of a recent one.

I've run ropes genius, and I'm not arrogant enough to act like I know it all. I just know more than most.

And all I said was WWE doesn't use outdated lingo, not my fault people can't read and quoting me without reading anything from my posts.

But what does it matter whether WWE calls them faces or heels, they still exist. Good guys & Bad guys, Heroes & Villains, Faces & heels what's the difference.
