I decided to go with another which do you prefer thread but this time using criteria that is common to both brands. Only Smackdown vs Raw as they have things independant to ECW that I have included.
Which brand is better in the following aspects. Each vote gives the brand one point and a tie gives no points.
Wrestlers:
Champions:
Storylines:
Matches:
Promos:
Tag Team Wrestling:
Womens Wrestling:
Mid Card Wrestling:
Main Event Wrestling:
Here is my example-
Wrestlers: Tie
A brand needs a good roster to draw interest and be successful. Both brands have well rounded rosters. Smackdown is slightly better but is also more plagued by injury at this point.
Champions: Raw
Raw have done a good job at keeping their champions fresh and relevant. Smackdown give titles to people that dont deserve it at all.
Storylines: Tie
Raw have always been known for developing storylines better but lately they have been rushing feuds. Smackdown though have made rivalries that go on long enough to capture the viewer's interest well but only recently.
Matches: Smackdown
Smackdown consistently do a good job of putting on 2 at the very least **1/2 star matches each show. Raw are lucky to get one.
Promos: Raw
There is a reason Raw is called the promo show and Smackdown the wrestling show. Its simply what they devote more time to.
Tag Team Wrestling: Raw
There are so many quality tag teams and tag feuds on Raw at the moment that this one is obvious. Priceless take credit for a lot of that.
Womens Wrestling: Smackdown
The divas division on Smackdown isnt good, but at least has a match a week and a feud, unlike the randon selection of matches that is the Raw womens division.
Mid Card Wrestling: Smackdown
Smackdown has a very solid mid card and they have utilized it well, even using it to advance wrestlers up the card. Solid feuds going too, unlike the randon Santino promos on Raw.
Main Event Wrestling: Smackdown
Now this was a hard decision but the Raw main event is a clusterfuck and feuds blended into each other too much. On Smakcdown you know who is in the main event feuds, and they deliver.
So all in all it turned out to be 4-3 to Smackdown. This reflects exactly how the WWE is right now imo. Neither brand is great, but Smackdown is usually more exciting to watch due to the matches. What results do you come up with?
