pwinsider said:
Smackdown opened with Teddy Long to address the World title controversy from Capitol Punishment. Long calls Christian to the ring. Christian says he deserves another title shot. Long tells him he has to earn it, so it's Kane vs. Christian to determine the new number one contender tonight.

*Sin Cara defeated Ted DiBiase in a good match.

*Cody Rhodes came out for his match with Daniel Bryan. Bryan came out and said that unlike what Cody thinks, looks aren't everything and showed a photo of Dusty Rhodes on the Titantron. He said Dusty may not have been the best looking guy but had charisma and was a good person, something Cody is not. DiBiase comes out when the match begins. Cody gets the win.

*Johnny Curtis vignette in catering. He stands in front of a table with ketchup, mayo and mustard. He takes the first two and leaves the mustard, because he can cut it.

*Backstage, Matt Striker interviews Big Show about being attacked by Mark Henry. Show says he's going to get Henry back when Henry spears him out of nowhere into the set. The referees help Show up and out as Henry walks off.

*WWE Intercontinental champion Ezekiel Jackson has his first title defense, defeating Wade Barrett.

*Jack Korpela interviews World champion Randy Orton. He says that Christian getting another opportunity to be the number one contender is comical but if he has to, he will defeat him again.

*Backstage, Wade Barrett comes across Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel. They mock him for losing to Jackson and say they are going to go out there and do something he can't - win.

*Justin Gabriel & Heath Slater defeated the Usos.

*Jinder Mahal vs. Yoshi Tatsu never happened as Mahal attacked Tatsu and laid him out. Mahal cut a promo saying Great Khali is done kissing fat women and they will
dominate.
*Mark Henry attacked Kane to cause a DQ in Christian vs. Kane. Randy Orton came out to even things up. Teddy Long made it a tag match. Orton nailed Christian with an RKO but Henry nailed Orton with the World's Strongest Slam and pinned him, so Christian ends up with a title shot at the MITB PPV.

Looks like a much better show than last week.

Finally Kane is being used in a big role on Smackdown again. Kane vs Henry in a feud seems likely. Christian facing Orton again is the right decision.

Like the sound of the first two matches, I have liked how that feud has developed.

Big Show needs to stay on RAW. Sick of WWE ignoring roster splits.

Hoping to see Ezekiel get a new challenger before MITB PPV.

Good to see a tag team match on the show. Two impressive young teams and should be a good match.

I want to see Jinder Mahal and Khali start teaming now rather than having Khali as just the bodyguard. I am sure the plan is to have them team.

Your thoughts on the show?

You beat me to it, was about to do this Troy haha.

Smackdown looks so much relevant this week. Apparently the IWC is getting sick of Christian/Orton once again but my idea (Something WWE won't do) is have Christian/Orton happen first. The SD MITB is later, have Christian bitch backstage to Teddy that he's been screwed, Christian sees *Someone who is a weak person who is in MITB just to job*, takes him out and inserts himself and wins it.... Christian then cashes on the following SD leading to a huge controversy storyline because Christian wasn't part of it in the first place.

Sin Cara/Bryan could be a tag team, same said with Cody/Ted... This works a hell lot better for the Tag Division.

Barrett/Zeke looks to be ending any time soon.

Henry is getting his push right now, I'm glad he's relevant once again.

Where is McGillicutty & Otunga, get them on TV even if it's SD or RAW.

Christian and Orton's matches have been so good I am more than happy to see another one. The issue I had was coming up with a reason why they wrestle again when Christian has lost to him three times in a row. Having the foot under the rope controversy gave them this reason and I am fine with it. If they were having shit matches then I wouldn't want to see it but they are getting close to MOTN every time they wrestle.

With the MITB match I hope that we don't have qualifying matches simply because there aren't enough wrestlers on Smackdown. Eight wrestlers in the Smackdown MITB plus two in the mainevent takes away almost all their stars. Maybe we will see The Uso's and Slater/Gabriel get title shots.

Otunga & McGillicutty should defend their titles at MITB PPV against Uso's and Gabriel/Slater.

Mark Henry is starting to look like the monster he is. He did have the line of the night onRaw this week, "My heart don't bleed Kool Aid".

Well I will reserve judgement on Henry for now, but needless to say a feud with Big Show just gives me another reason not to watch SD right now.

The highlight of that show sounds like the Daniel Bryan/Cody Rhodes segment, love the mention of the American Dream, and also the logic behind what DB was saying. It strikes me as having a bit of comedy and depth to it all in one. These two could have a killer feud.

Why does Henry pinning Orton get Christian a title shot? Sounds like TNA Booking. Other than that Henry has been entertaining in the last week (did I say that?) so I have no problem with him being pushed. Mahal has an interesting thing going on with Khali so no problem with that either. Bryan vs Cody is always good. Cara and Ted works also. Barrett finishing his feud with Jackson needs to happen and Slater-Gabriel vs Uso's was the only really good thing on the show last week. Looks like a solid show.

I found a more detailed report and this describes the ending:

Christian & Kane were having a pretty good match with A LOT of near falls. At the end, Mark Henry ran out to attack Kane, causing a DQ and a very upset Christian. Teddy Long came out and said that Christian had just lost the match (implying that he would not receive another title shot), but then Teddy said that Christian had a chance to "redeem" himself in a tag match. Christian/Henry vs. Kane/Orton. If Christian's team wins, he earns another title shot.

The tag match went on for awhile, before it ended with a Mark Henry pin on Randy Orton, allowing Christian's team to win, and therefore give Christian one more title opportunity (presumably at Money in the Bank). The show ended with Christian standing in the ring, holding the title, on top of a fallen Randy Orton. And the crowd was really booing him.

So Henry was working to help get Christian the title shot.

Does this mean Henry will play Tomko?

Hopefully not.

Can't see it happening, Henry will have his own feud with Kane or Henry or both. I still can't figure out why Show is on Smackdown when Kane is there to feud with Henry.

Henry and Kane could have a decent feud, wouldn't call it 5 star classics. But definitely would be better than Khali matches.

Almost anything is better than a Khali match.

They aren't going to have MOTN but it is a good way to use both of them for the time being.

I don't know if you guys have watched SD yet but The Uso's have a new theme song and they do a Samoan War Dance. I actually dig it a lot, these guys might be actually doing something in the tag division sooner or later.

Also Slater & Gabriel has a new song too.

Not sure about the War Dance, is it like a Haka?

Will listen to the new theme songs when I get a chance. Are they any good?

They keep doing that, it will get them over. Using something like that will help them stand out.

Don't know why more Samoans didn't do this.
