SMACKDOWN RESULTS:

* Triple H kicks off this week's SmackDown and is holding a town hall meeting for everyone to air their grievances. The locker room is out watching from the stage. Triple H, Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox are in the ring. Triple H talks first about how he fired Cody Rhodes on RAW and what's best for business.

The Shield are also out, standing guard at the ring. Triple H wants nobody to be afraid for their jobs. He lets anyone step up and ask a question but nobody does. He says no butt kissing. Damien Sandow speaks up and says he supports Triple H firing Cody Rhodes. Triple H says Cody fired Cody. Kofi Kingston speaks up and says everyone is afraid and that's not best for business. Triple H talks about how the wrestlers' egos are out of control and says that's why Daniel Bryan isn't out here. Heath Slater speaks up but Triple H cracks jokes at him. Rob Van Dam says Cody getting fired wasn't cool and calls Triple H "dude." Ryback speaks up and doesn't like being called a bully. Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler, Kofi Kingston vs. Curtis Axel and RVD vs. Randy Orton is announced for tonight. Also, Bryan gets to pick The Shield member that he wants to face tonight. Triple H gives Randy Orton a grand introduction.

* Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam is up first. Alberto Del Rio is out for commentary. Another good, lengthy match. Orton dodged a Five Star frogsplash. Orton got the win with a RKO. During the match, Del Rio interfered and it was said he appeared to have injured his arm. After the match, Del Rio beat RVD down and left him laying.

* Backstage segment with Daniel Bryan and Renee Young. Bryan says WWE officials told him not to attend the town hall meeting earlier. He leaves it up to The Shield to name which member he will face tonight.

* A new vignette for Los Matadores airs.

* Segment with the Divas. AJ Lee talks with Alicia Fox and Aksana about Total Divas. AJ would rather put her title up against one of them than one of the girls from the show.

* Ryback vs. Dolph Ziggler is up next. Dean Ambrose is out on commentary. Ryback gets the win after Ambrose attacks Ziggler.

* Kofi Kingston vs. Curtis Axel in a non-title match is up next. Axel comes out to a huge pop and a "welcome home" from the hometown crowd. Paul Heyman is with him. Kofi gets the win with a SOS.

* Backstage segment with Renee Young and Paul Heyman talking about CM Punk.

* Naomi vs. Brie Bella is up next. Cameron, Eva Marie and Nikki Bella are at ringside. The match ends with no winner as AJ brings out the other Divas and they face off against the Total Divas.

* Jack Swagger and Antonio Cesaro come out with Zeb Colter as a Los Matadores vignette airs. Their opponents are The Usos. Cesaro and Swagger get the win.

* Triple H is forcing Big Show to face 3MB in a handicap match. Show squashed all three members and hit the knockout punch on Heath Slater for the win. Slater was helped to the back by referees.

* The Shield come out to a big pop and surround the ring. They have chosen Seth Rollins to face Daniel Bryan in tonight's main event. Good match. Bryan got the win after fighting off The Shield and hitting Rollins with the knee to the face. After the match, Randy Orton interrupts the celebration and attacks Bryan. SmackDown ends with Orton standing over Bryan with the WWE Title.

Not a bad show at all. A fair bit of wrestling and it seems Ambrose/Ziggler is going to happen at NOC.

I swear, this Orton laying out Bryan and standing over him with the title to end the show shit is getting REALLY old. The story has been amazing thus far, but this has to be the 6th time that this has happened. Bryan needs to come out on top at least once soon. Or just end it another way.

Don't get Kofi winning the match over the hometown star. I swear, Kofi's booking never makes any sense.

The opening segment looks good, and entertaining. I like the build for Ziggler and Ambrose. And I know Seth and Bryan tore it up in the main event. Thats gonna be a fun match. Always loved Orton/RVD matches.

By the way, anyone else think its odd that sense becoming "The Face of the Company" Orton has yet to main event? He's curtain jerked and mid carded. Weak looking for being the Face of the Company. Bryan is the one always main eventing.

Not really. Mainly because Bryan main eventing and Orton basically being HHH #1 guy kinda works with the storyline as it is. The feud as it is right now is moreso HHH/Bryan than Orton/Bryan anyway

Agree on everything but the last part. The whole point of Orton's character right now is to sort of look like an undeserving champion. He won the title at SummerSlam without having to do anything but pin him, and and every time he attacks Bryan it's after Shield do a number on him.

He's the face of the company that's being spoon-fed and protected by everyone around him. It's stuff like this that makes the fans hate him that much more.

I swear it's like half the people who have been discussing wrestling angles on forums don't seem to learn anything.

PPV is next sunday, not this sunday. If the good guy looks all dominant, why the fuck do I want to see the PPV? He hasn't gotten his hands on Orton one on one, so that's the bait. Orton is building heat, the go home show is where the good guy gets some shit in, making us all want to see him kick the shit out that dastardly villian.

Face chasing heel 101. This isn't rocket science

And Tapout, Orton not maineventing a show is the whole point to this storyline. He is the one the show closes on, he doesn't do the heavy lifting like his opponent, he gets handed everything. Simple as I can explain it.

Shit like this gets frustrating to read at times.

I know that the face gets the upper hand before the PPV but for Christ sake, this has got to be the 6th time we've seen THE SAME EXACT ENDING. That's what is getting frustrating. Find another way to end it. Bryan doesn't even need to look strong. Just this is getting really repetitive.

It's the heat building stage of a long angle. You don't blow your wad on the first stage, this shit ain't Memento...It's wrestling.

It's a 2 nights a week show program geared towards a fucking PPV enery month, ofcourse it's going to get repetitive at times, it's a soap opera ffs.

This isn't going to be Breaking Bad or Boardwalk Empire. No breaks means, that the writing team is going to keep this shit on cruise control through it's slowest time of the year.

Quit overthinking this......It's still just rasslin afterall.

Plus with how the story is developing there really isn't much scope to end it any other way each week. You gotta make Bryan look weak and having him beat down is pretty much the only way to do that.

Also stop focusing on just the end of the show and look how much the story has grown during, the inclusion of guys like Show, Ziggler and possibly even Cody down the line. It's all a slow building process and too reach a good enough ending your gonna have to be a bit repetitive.

So Axel has to wait until WWE is back in his hometown to get a reaction from the crowd lol.

........ALL these years of the internet complaining that the Heel is always made to look weak, and WWE goes back to the booking formula that has built peak angles and historic, iconic storylines... and everyone complains.

The whole point of the REPETITIVE finish is to make fans get fed up with seeing the same shit. They WANT/NEED to see something different... so you give it to 'em the last Raw before the PPV to instill some hope that the face can overcome the odds going into the PPV before he gets beat dirty. Jesus Christ... it's complaining like this that leads the WWE to push John Cena ending every single episode of Raw over the Heel opponent, regardless of whether he's champion or not... and why there is not one established Heel in the WWE right now (don't you dare say Del Rio).
