Smackdown Spoilers (6/21/13)

SMACKDOWN SPOILERS:

* Daniel Bryan opens SmackDown and talks about how he's never had a match stopped due to injury like he did on RAW. Bryan says they stopped the match because he is the weakest link. Bryan wants to prove he's not the weakest link by defeating Randy Orton tonight. Orton comes out and says he helped Bryan up out of respect. Orton says Bryan will have to be stretchered out tonight.

* Curtis Axel vs. Wade Barrett and Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho is announced for tonight.

* Sheamus defeated Cody Rhodes with the Cloverleaf submission. After the match, Damien Sandow beats Sheamus down.

* Another promo for The Wyatt Family.

* Curtis Axel beat Wade Barrett with the Intercontinental Title on the line. The Miz was on commentary.

* AJ Lee defeated Natalya.

* Backstage segment with Aksana teasing Kaitlyn about AJ's win. Kaitlyn attacks her and goes crazy until Layla breaks it up.

* Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho ends when Ricardo Rodriguez interferes and Dolph Ziggler attacks Del Rio for the DQ. Del Rio escapes the ring and Jericho hits Ziggler with a Codebreaker. Del Rio comes back to kick Ziggler and pose over him.

* Christian defeated Drew McIntyre with Killswitch. After the match, Christian cuts a promo about being back. The Shield enter the ring through the crowd and hit the triple powerbomb on him.

* We get a replay of Brock Lesnar attacking CM Punk on RAW. Renee Young interviews Paul Heyman backstage about what happened.

* Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton is up next. Orton dominates most of the match. They end up on the floor and Bryan hits a suicide dive. Bryan wins by count out. After the match, Bryan demands that the match be restarted because he didn't want it to end that way. The referee refuses and that's the end of SmackDown.

- Nice to have Bryan open the show with a promo ranting about the decision on RAW. Could come in well for a storyline.
- Sheamus winning, Rhodes is going nowhere and it seems Sandow/Sheamus is far from over.
- Another Wyatt Vignette (Either a new one or same from RAW)
- Axel beats Barrett, need details if he won via that shitty DDT or Perfect-Plex
- AJ/Natalya, not bad at all followed by a backstage segment which is a nice touch.
- Del Rio/Y2J with Ricardo being a heel interrupting, looks like Ziggler/Y2J/ADR at MITB possibly. Wouldn't mind that at all.
- Christian/McIntyre (Here's hoping it was like the match they had on Superstars ages ago). Shield beats down Christian for no reason... Or is Christian going to face Shield soon?
- Heard Bryan/Orton was a fantastic match, people ranted on Twitter about the ending and the fact the referee refused the match to be restarted.

Why oh why do we still get to have The Miz and Wade involved with the IC title? Let Axel feud with someone like Christian, Miz can go feud with someone and so can Wade.

Wouldn't mind a Shield vs. Christian, Jericho and Kidd match

Very meh show. Sheamus gets to squash Cody again, the obviously one sided Sandow-Sheamus feud continues and Ziggler continues to be booked like a punk kid.

 

[Troy]

Not a fan on the finish in the mainevent, WWE seem to have a thing about count out finishes in mainevents these days and it is overkill.

I don't mind Wade getting his rematch here, he lost so that should mean that he disappears from the title scene. Not that keen on seeing Miz feud with Axel either but hopefully it doesn't last long.

Intrigued by The Shield attacking Christian, wouldn't be the worst idea to have Christian feud with Ambrose over the US title.
