WWE All-Star 8 Man Tag: Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Finlay w/Hornswaggle & Batista vs. Montell Vontavious Porter, John Bradshaw Layfield, The Brian Kendrick w/ Ezekiel Jackson, & Kane
That was the longest intro in my Smackdown review history. Finlay and The start out. The is taken down and Finlay tags in The Animal who dominates. Quick tag back to Finlay who comes in and stiffs the fuck out of The. Finlay does the old apron spot and tries to get Hornswaggle involved but Horny its a plancha on MVP instead. More quick tags see every member of the face team getting in. The hits a dropkick and a shot to Finlays head to take control. Hornswaggle grabs The's jacket and starts dancing like him on the apron. He gives chance and Finlay levels him with a clotesline. But when Horny jumps back into the ring and distracts the ref, Big Zeke lays out the Fin man. JBL gets the tag and starts lay(field)ing into Finlay. Very snug offense, reminiscent of their WM 24 match. The heels go through their roster as Kane and MVP get in and all lay out Finlay with a nice array of offense. JBL tags in. Finlay is taken to the heel corner where Kane works him over. Finlay gets back into it with a DDT and makes the hot tag to the Animal who dominates and then hits a pair of spinebusters on MVP and Kane. Some great double teaming from Batista and Rey a la the New Foundation (yeah, look them up for those who dont remember) Rey hits a hurricanrana and a headscissors on MVP to get them up for the 619. He goes for it but Kane trips him rips him from the ring and we go to commerical.

AND WERE BACK as Kane is pounding down on Hornswaggle....no, wait, thats Rey. The tags in and locks in a Camel Clutch. Rey almost fights out of it but The tags in JBL who beats up Rey right in front of his buddy Batista. JBL has some serious heat tonight. MVP in and treats Rey like a rag doll. The comes in with a top rope kick. He charges Rey in the corner but Mysterio gets his feet up. Rey charges The and it looks like The goes for a tilt o whirl but Mysterio turns it almost into a falling DDT/Cross body combo. Rey makes the hot tag to Jeff Hardy who is mega over. MVP in as well. Hardy is on fire and it breaks down quickly. ITS ANARCHY!!! 619 and a Swanton seal the deal and the face win!! What a hell of a match!!!

Winners: Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Finlay, & Batista
Match Rating: ***1/2 (Really entertaining match here)

The Big Show is apparently in charge this week. Well, its not that far of a stretch considering he was taking control of what WE SAW last week. Big Show then bullies Chavo into having a match. It does make sense to have a big mofo in charge. You cant say no.

Intercontinental Champion Santino Marella vs. WWE United States Champion Shelton Benjamin
Santino has been champion for 6.71 weeks. I love it. He also declares himself champion of planet Earth. Is that the WORLD champion is? Shelton calls Santino Beth's girlfriend. Thats good. Good promo. Lock up and side headlock to start by Marella. Benji throws him off and starts in with the shit kicking offense. Paydirt on Santino as R-Truth starts rapping. Hey, DMX, I'm trying to watch a match!! Benjamin kicks Santinos ass some more to send a message. He stops and looks at Truth and gets powerbombed from the top rope and pinned by Santino.

Winner: Santino Marella
Match Rating: ** (entertaining if too short)
And Then: WASSSSUP!!!??

Chavo Guerrero vs. Mark Henry and The Great Khali
Well if you have to use talentless fucks, better to use them together. The two morons tag in and out doing one move at a time. And it ends with the Khali Vice.

Winners: The Great Khali and Mark Henry
Match Rating: *1/2
And After: The Big Show KOs Chavo with a right cross. TBS cuts a short promo till the bell tolls for him and the lights go out. He actually shows intelligence and gets the fuck out of the ring. How can TBS be the smartest guy on SD? Show and Taker trade ugly faces.

Simply Priceless (World Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiasie Jr. with Manu) vs. WWE Tag Team Champions The Colon Brothers and CM Punk

Wow, talk about a surprise!! I like it!! Punk comes in and bitch slaps Cody Rhodes and we start off with Primo and Teddy Jr. Punk is mega over. Quick tag by the heels leads to a quick tag and some great double team action from the brothers Colon. The heavy of Priceless tags in and takes it to Carlito. More fast tags and basic, heel double teaming. These kids know the basics. Orton lock by Junior that Carlito fights out of. Primo gets tagged in when I dont think he was supposed to and Cody gets heat on the other Colon brother. See what happens when you can work on the fly? Primo gets in trouble and tags in Punk who just comes in and DOMINATES Teddy Jr. The action breaks down with some great high flying offense leaving DiBiasie and Punk alone leading to the GTS!

Winners: The Colon Brothers and CM Punk
Match Rating: ***
Comment: I think it shows a lot that CM Punk can be used in this capacity. Yes, it was probably thrown together, but he was used as a surprise as a "big star" to be added to a match to get some more attention drawn to it. Good for him. Maybe the WWE are actually taking him seriously. Wait, what is he doing at the PPV?

Lumberjill Match: WWE Divas Champion Michelle McCool vs. WWE Womens Champion Beth Pheonix
Side headlock by Michelle that Beth powers out of. Quick takedown by Michelle gets a one. She tries a double leg but Beth is too powerful. Arm bar by Michelle gets her a forearm to the grill. Michelle tries some fancy Rey Mysterio shit and gets planted in some kind of back droppy thing. (SP?) OTS backbreaker on Michelle. Michelle gets out and hits a double leg with a flip over into a jacknife pin. McCool with more quick offense. Good stuff. The heels pull Beth out to give her a break. Michelle follows but the heels get on her like flies on shit. We get a small schmoz and the two get back in the ring. Beth is in control. Michelle tries to go for more of her Rey like offense but gets tripped up and thrown into the Glam Slam.

Winner: Beth Pheonix
Match Rating: **

ECW Champion Matt Hardy vs. WWE Champion Triple H vs. World Heavyweight Champion Chris Jericho Matt is the odd man out to start as Jericho and HHH have words. He tries to get in but KYJ slaps him. Matt goes at him and HHH joins in garnering a nice pop. Double elbow by the faces. Hardy suplexes Jericho and HHH and Matt hit a knee and elbow respectively. Matt throws KYJ into the post and Trips attacks Hardy. I guess its over. Triple H brings Jericho back in with a suplex but Chris hits a clothesline a momentary advantage. HHH gets back into it but Matt Hardy shows THE FIGHTING SPIRIT taking it to Triple H like only Shawn Michaels has been able to do. They fight back onto the apron and Y2J hits his springboard dropkick taking them both out and we got to commercial.

Back on SD as Matt hits the OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH elbow. Hardy tries the twist of fate but Jericho throws Matt into the ropes where HHH doe the low bridge. Back in the ring and its WM 18 again. Triple H takes over with a NASTY spinebuster. HHH goes for a pedigree but its reversed. Matt looks like he is going to pounce from the top but before he can Jericho catapults HHH into Matt Hardy. HOW DID HE KNOW MATT WAS THERE!!?? Jericho goes for a superplex but Trips is back in and we get our oh so predictable superpowerbombplex. Really, is that the only spot you fuckers can do!? Its a triple down and the ref is counting. H throws an arm over Jericho for a 2. Hardy is pretty much dead. HHH busts out a sleeper but Jericho turns it into a back suplex. Jericho with Ijammedmykneelionsault (other too predictable spot) . HHH gets thrown into Hardy who is dead now i think. Jericho with the Walls!!!! Trips cant get out of them! Hardy comes back in before a submission and almost gets a near fall. He's on fire!! Jericho cant hit anything on him. Hardy is about to go for the win but in comes HHH who hits the pedigree for the win. Fucking gay. GAY GAY GAY GAY!

Winner: HHH
Match Rating: ***
And After: Jericho hits the Code Breaker on HHH. GOOD!! FUCK HIM! Jericho busts out a ladder and uses it on Matt Hardy? Uh...ok? Jeff for the save. HHH tries to spin Jeff Hardy around but gets a Twist Of Fate. Jeff ascends the ladder but before he can hit a move Vladimir Kozlov headbutts Jeff in mid air. Reverse DDT on HHH and Kozlov stands tall amongst USA chants.

Jesus fuck, I dont mind HHH winning, but does he have to win like that? How about a little build to the finish? So HHH gets to win here and retain his title, which you know he will? Wow. Great SD none the less. Sorry for the late review, I was at a friend place drinking and, well thanks to my TIVO, otherwise known as the internet, I can watch it whenever. Dont for get to read other reviews by Soulpower and BKB. Also, read my lastest mini No Smark Zone where I talk about what ROH need to do to succeed. Thanks, and we'll see you next week!

Good review Kaedon, Yes the 8 tag match was the best imo. (Not only for involving Batista :shifty: ) but yes, a strong SD! show and the I should mention that the new SD Theme is making SD more of a serious show rather than the CW network.

Lol, like I said, I dont mind that he won, or even that Matt got pinned. But he won like a heel. He won like Orton won at WM. It was just such bullshit all around.

I love Santino. And it's good to see him finally get a pinfall that meant something, even if it was due to interference.

All in all, a good SmackDown. Even with HHH winning like a heel for the 999th time (Can't this guy make his mind up Kaedon?), it was still a damn fine debut on MyNetworkTV
