They don't want to get rid of the character because it apparently pulls a good amount of merchandise. Merchandising money trumps the fact that a character sucks to the McMahons.
Just replica masks I'm assuming? I hate this company

Yeah, I didn't really pay attention. I just saw it was Sin Cara vs Rio, went and got a sammich, then when I returned Rio was losing cleanly to him. I laughed.
Seeing as Del Rio lost to Sin Cara, wonder what this means for Del Rio..? No more main event scene for the time being?

So Sin Cara cleanly defeats Del Rio on raw and next week not with the company. Weird.

Or, the real sin cara did. Fuck i'm confused.
It was Hunico behind the mask.

Eh, I prefer Hunico as Sin Cara if they choose to keep the character. Personally I would have either left it to Hunico in the past or just axe the character completely, but I guess his masks sell a bit to well to get rid of him already.

The character can be entertaining, it's just if they choose to replace Hunico, how will they explain the lack of Tattoo. Also they said they would want someone from NXT, does anyone else know any high flying former luchadores in NXT? The only one I can think of is one alot of people would say NO! to.

Well I was more thinking Sami Zayn, but sure :p
Del Sol/Kalisto would be perfect to take over the Cara character. Extremely talented, works both American and Lucha and speaks English. But he should have his own Kalisto character imo. He's almost perfect to be Rey's heir.

Is it just me or did we see going to happen this year, he hasnt been on TV much this year (due to obvious injuries and well....lack of storyline) and I get the feeling that this was the final straw for WWE. Let's see where they take the Sin Cara character now, should be interesting to watch :)

I really think Hunico is a better Sin Cara than Mistico, they should continue with him

What is entertaining about the character? The stupid ass entrance trampoline jump? Stupid lighting? Is Hunico required to botch? You think WWE gives a fuck about explaining a plot hole like a disappearing/appearing tattoo?

I think the entire mystery character of Sin Cara is interesting, if pushed right. The lightning is something I disagree with, I think he shouldn't get his own special lighting. And I agree completely with the tattoo, they would switch to someone else and just not even explain it. The trampoline jump was cool by the way

WWE issued the following statement to PWInsider.com in response to a query about the status of the original Sin Cara and the overall character now that Hunico is back under the mask:
"The original performer behind the Sin Cara mask remains under contract to WWE.

WWE will continue to invest in the character and retain it as part of WWE programming."

Update!

They should've gotten TJ Perkins as Manik at WWE to replace Sin Cara already (at least he can speak english and does that epic ring rope dive thing) or have Hunico become a new mexican superhero that doesn't rely on weird lightning on Smackdown shows.
