Anything that had to do with Sabu and Barbed Wire ropes was INSANE!

I'm pretty sure you just described 90% of his matches in FMW. The fire match with Sabu & The Sheik vs Onita & Tarzan Goto where the entire ring burned down after the fire got out of control was pretty sick. I had a comp about 14 years ago of Sabu in Japan from RF video & this was on it, but unlike the copies on video sites, mine showed the ring out of control burning after the match

There are others in better quality on youtube, but this one has the original music & not some dubbed over generic arabian theme for The Sheik & Sabu. There is 27 or so seconds of annoying tags because everyone has to put their name on shit they upload apparently.

The majority of ECW's stuff in 1995-1997 was pretty nasty as well imo.

I'd honestly say 1995 until The Dudley Boys left ECW. They had a LOT of violent matches in 1998 & 1999, a lot of times powerbombing people through tables. They also started covering tables in thumbtacks, then tables covered in tacks & barbed wire, then flaming tables, & flaming tables with thumbtacks & barbed wire. As the years went on with them they got more violent. The feuds they had with The Eliminators, The Gangstas and Tommy Dreamer were pretty bloody.

Also I'd say the feud between The Bad Breed was a pretty sick one. The Taipei death match is one most people know, but I always liked the barbed wire baseball bat match a bit better.

Hayabusa breaking his neck and ending his career attempting to do a Lionsault, a move he did at least a couple hundred times in his career. Hayabusa's foot slipped on the rope. If you've never seen his stuff, definitely look him up. Especially his ECW match vs RVD & Sabu. His partner was Jinsei Shinzaki aka Hakushi. The difference between Hayabusa's injury & the other neck breaking videos below it is that Hayabusa was paralyzed afterward and regained the ability to walk over the last few years.

Wow I didn't realise the Hayabusha thing was so serious. I've seen that video many times and laughed at it, cause it looked funny. I feel bad now, knowing that he broke his neck AND ended his career. Fuck.

To narrow down LHR's comment about Foley and thumbtacks...

Foley being pedigreed onto thumbtacks was possibly the sickest thing I've seen done with thumbtacks thus far.
