Release Date: January 13, 2023
John Hyams (Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning, “Black Summer”) directed Sick from a story by Williamson, and it’s being described as a “lean, mean, and wickedly timely slasher.”

In the film, “As the pandemic steadily brings the world to a halt, Parker and her best friend Miri decide to quarantine at the family lake house alone—or so they think.”

From Blumhouse and Miramax, Sick is written by Kevin Williamson and Katelyn Crabb, and stars Gideon Adlon (Blockers, The Craft: Legacy), Bethlehem Million (And Just Like That), Marc Menchaca (The Outsider, Ozark) and Jane Adams (Twin Peaks, Poltergeist, Hacks).

Peacock is starting to put together some really entertaining stuff. I'm watching A Friend of the Family right now I'm pretty sure I made a Thread for that, still need to see that Bacon Show, but this Movie looks so entertaining. I couldn't imagine needing help from a Killer and person saying do you have a Mask:fpalm

Pretty decent modern slasher. You can definitely feel the Kevin Williamson effect on it in some of the scenes with the way they are laid out, they feel quite scream-y. Characters for the most part are well acted, and are smarter than your average slasher characters at times in terms of fighting back. Which is always a pleasant surprise to see in these type of movies. It's always enjoyable to see the tables get turned. Lead actress was great and grew on me a lot over the movie with her performance, I wasn't expecting to be impressed by her at the start of this I'll be honest as I thought her character was going to annoy me initially. I thought the opening scene was cool in this movie too although it had me shouting at the screen I'll admit. It does a lot of things right in my opinion and manages to stay entertaining with a smaller amount of on-screen characters than other slashers. Felt a lot like The Strangers in that respect.

I legit thought it was a parody movie when I saw the mask in the car scene in the trailer.
