Should WrestlingSmarks Ban Twitter Embeds?

So we knew it was trash, but then this happened:

There is a large movement on other social media platforms to ban twitter links to stop giving the Nazi his traffic. I think that WS should consider doing the same as these platforms are voting yes quite strongly.

One solution I see a lot of is to simply allow screenshots but not links. Which means they would only get traffic once. I personally think we can do without it completely but I understand the flow of information is difficult to get elsewhere right now.

I am not a mod. this poll is not official. But I do think it's the right thing to do and needs to be discussed seriously instead of being constantly ignored and hand waved like it has in the past.

So I ask WS, should we stop using Twitter and X here and stand up to the tech nazi? Do you have the courage to actually give up ONE thing?

I think it should absolutely be banned overall, I know we all can do better for it.

I'd go one step further and ban Facebook and Instagram embeds too tbh, give less traffic to Zuck as well.

I would be in agreement especially to the two last ones as they really bring nothing of value to WS. I can see the argument for twitter screentshots in the interim of people moving over to Bluesky and embeds being worked on in the future. there is even bluesky bots that reformat twitter posts too.

either way, I think at minimum we can kill the twitter embeds for good , stick to screenshots. if you dont have an account u cant click on them anyways

I also understand it would be a pain in the ass for daily posters who aggregate but it's only a bit of extra work to do a screenshot. I think it would go a long way to show solidarity regardless of our political standings or favorite promotions. this should be a bi partisan and non tribal effort

Ah no considering that alot of the Wrestling stuff especially on the Joshi/NJPW side pretty much put out all their News on X. I get he's a piece of shit of a guy I wanted to punch him through the TV yesterday but I didn't let that effect my vote.

let us keep it civil but yes, that would be an argument. It is unfortunately a common theme that people put their own personal entertainment above their morals. Apathy is heavy and people are very selfish about things that do not affect them directly (no offense HoHo)
