Im starting to get the idea that maybe, just maybe i should just not suggest anything anymore, as it never works out well.

This wasn't a suggestion that needed to be made. There are no rules in place on how to format a rate thread, poll, or any other thread.
You, as the creator, can do whatever you like with your thread. If members complain often enough then you probably want to change it.
