More News On TNA Going To Two Hours

Source: PWInsider.com

It appears that TNA and SpikeTV are having serious talks of expanding iMPACT to 2 hours. They are also talking about doing additional programming, possibly a UFC Unleashed type of a show where they do interviews or utilize the TNA footage library. Although nothing has been confirmed at this point, there have been several talks in regards to this matter.

Mike Johnson is also reporting that two other cable network companies are interested in broadcasting TNA’s iMPACT! MyNetwork TV, which is syndicated, has confirmed its interest. The other is said to be a major cable network that has never air professional wrestling before.

Back in the early days of Wrestling, wrestlers would never go out of character. If a face was seen outside the ring he would never be hanging out with a heel and this and that because of there characters. In the early days, wrestlers pretty much lived there character when they were in public. Do you think it should be like that again in this day and age of wrestling?

I think that wrestlers should stay in character at all times. I know a lot of wrestling fans are internet fans but I still think WWE needs to appeal to the casual fan and by doing this, it will help the casual fans watch it in more of a kayfabe way. WHen you see guys on the roster talking on twitter, a lot of times it is out of character and that just goes to show the casual fan that wrestling isn't real. I think if wrestlers stayed in character when they arer in public that it would help appeal to more casual fans.

Yeah, I want Mark Henry to always be in character so we can start the Mark Henry Destruction TOUR already.

In all fairness though people realize wrestling is fake now, so if they saw Undertaker acting dead in public they would probably just snicker at him. Some characters are a little less noticeable, but you don't see Jack Nicklaus acting like the main protagonist like he was in Shining. Most folks wouldn't take this seriously. Now as far as Twitter goes more should be in character since WWE watches over that stuff. I think that makes sense, but if I was a wrestler and I wanted to have a drink with the guys down at a local pub it would be just a pain in the ass to be in character all night entertaining fans passing through.

I just think with the amount of PR work the WWE does, it's impossible for the guys to stay in character at all times. For the faces it's not too bad but you can't really expect the heels to stay fully in character. You also couple in other factors such as guys travelling to split costs and just general fan interaction and I think you've got a pretty impossible task.

It depends on who it is really, i mean i can't picture some wrestlers doing it like Undertaker or Kane but Cm Punk and The Miz could pull there on TV personas off while away from the ring.

It's a new time now where the we have a show that kills kayfabe pretty much in Tough Enough. You really can't be in character at all times. Having aspects of it if you're a guy like Punk/Miz as said could work but no I think they should get to live their normal lives outside the ring.
