Sine NXT has been established as WWE's developmental Territory, they brought in three championships to it, each a part of their own division. The NXT Championship for the men's singles division, the NXT Tag Team Championship, their tag team title, and lastly the NXT Women's Championship.

As of the past years or two, NXT has been dominated by "independent wrestlers" and while it has been a great place for indy stars to adapt to WWE's style, improve on the mic, or just establish themselves to the WWE audience, there is a bit of a glass ceiling for those who don't have as much experience. There are very few "WWE creations" that have really contended for the NXT Championship. Big E, Bo Dallas, Tyler Breeze (who is very underrated IMO) and Tyson Kidd. That is all I know off the top of my head. There is a decent glass ceiling for these competitors and if they want to establish themselves and get out of NXT, then there may need to be a tool in place to give them more exposure. One thing I propose could help is a mid-card title for NXT. Back in FCW, there was the FCW 15 medal (don't remember the name off hand) which was always contended in 15 minute Iron Men matches and people like Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose competed for it. NXT has been around for a few years and perhaps it is the time they bring a new belt into the fold. Maybe a Television...or Network...or Internet title? Another title?

What do you think, WWEF, is it time for NXT to bring a new belt into the fold or sometime down the road?

I completely agree with you @Beaver that would be a great idea! I think it should be a TV Title it would give some much needed exposure and catapult some guys to the top of NXT then hopefully over to the main roster. I'm all for it!........Now all we need is for Paul and Vince to get onboard!

No.

And sure, having a secondary title in NXT would help spotlight some names that may never be elevated to the very top, but there's no room for a midcard title right now, because NXT is an hour-long program.

However, if NXT became a two-hour show, introducing a midcard title would be fine by me.

But, right now, it's just perfect the way it is. Singles guys vying for only one title, THE title, makes it more prestigious.

^ This..

I'd love for NXT to be a longer show or perhaps even two separate 1 hour shows (NXT RAW & NXT SMACKDOWN hehe just kidding).

No but seriously the only way to properly do a midcard title for NXT would be to allow enough time for it without taking away from everything else that has made NXT such a strong developmental territory for WWE.

For me, I see it like this. The NXT TV shows are not always continuing their storylines week to week. This is good and it gives slower builds, but I more or less thought this while I was walking home from Tim Horton's yesterday....so *shrugs*.

Personally, I think it could work if done right and maybe can give people like Tye Dillinger or NXT stars not as high up something to fight for.

I'd much rather WWE get their shit together and start actually producing talent worth putting on TV regularly in their performance center rather than depending on independent or international talent.

The PC's track record is staggeringly bad. For every Dosjevic that makes TV and gets over there are 20 scrubs

No, I definitely don't think they should add a midcard title. Being that they are first and foremost a developmental territory, it would add an unnecessary extra level of attainment. I think that it would have the effect of keeping guys down in the developmental league longer than they need to be.

It's cool that we can watch NXT and enjoy it, but it's main goal is getting boys and girls ready for the main roster. Midcard titles have traditionally been a stepping stone to the main titles. It would, to me, seem completely out of place in a league like this. In a way, you might even look at the NXT Championship as the midcard title and being called up to the main roster as the main title.

I agree with most of what you said entirely.. especially what I've bold/underlined.

If they were to do introduce it to NXT in its' current standing, and this is only if.. I would do it as a "TNA Option C-esque" title... Basically to where they could cash it in for an opportunity (NOT LIKE MITB CASH-IN where they can do it any time anywhere). It would be basically just be cashing it in to become the #1 Contender in a later on NXT Title match.

I wouldn't call it staggeringly bad, not even bad. Every school has 1 success for every 20 failures but with WWE their success stories are usually huge success stories. The Four Horsewomen are a great recent example (Except Becky since she wrestled a lot prior).

Bailey and Sasha also spent years on the independents before. Charlotte is the only pure WWE product out of them.

At the moment the only pure WWE products on NXT TV are the authors of pain, Knight and Dosjevic and Liv Morgan.

The PC has roughly 150 people there now. Majority of these people don't even make it onto the Florida house show loop.

The training is probably great but WWE has little to no faith in their own products to pull houses it seems.

Well, Sasha Banks and Bayley may have started briefly on the indies they were made stars by the Performance Centre, NXT and FCW. Also one thing to consider, training takes a long ass time and the PC has only been open for 3 years. Plus NXT is in a transition period and they have an overabundance of indie talent but sure you do have a point and I think half their issue is rushing people into NXT would just aren't ready. Authors Of Pain are pretty damn terrible and Takeover Toronto showed that really clearly but their getting a monster push, another example being Nia Jax. When WWE slowly let talent prepare it goes leaps and bounds I mean look at Alexa Bliss, she has around 3 years between her NXT debut and her main roster debut and it let them experiment with her character while also developing her in ring ability and comparing that to Nia Jax who has been wrestling for 1 year and she's been rushed to the main roster and is just in limbo because she isn't very good which is completely understandable for someone who's been wrestling for 18 months. The performance centre is just really hit or miss and its not really anything wrong with the facility or trainers its just the nature of wrestling, they sign people and the vast majority of them will never be successful but it seems when they make someone successful, they make some extremely successful like Charlotte Flair.

I don't really agree on that training people takes a lot of time. Standard time for wrestling training by mosts professionally run schools is between 9 months and a year. Top notch schools like New Japan can churn out talent in six month intervals. With the resources WWE has there's really no excuse why they have not churned out a decent class of TV ready talent every 10 months or so.
