Leojay makes a great point. WCW in it's prime, was sold by the main event, but it kept people watching because of their mid-carders. Guys like Benoit, Guerrero, Mysterio, Jericho, etc. Is what made the show IMO.

To be fair, that's how the WWE/F has always been as well. Main event sells the show, but the midcard is where the main action is. The 80's had some great matches in the undercard while still presenting Hulkamania (the main draw) in the main event.
