Easily one of the best Wrestlers ever in the Game of Professional Wrestling. From humble beginnings getting his ass handled to him by Billy Jack Hayes in AWA, to teaming up with Marty becoming the Midnight Rockers all the way to WWE where they would be one of the be one of the most entertaining Tag Teams ever in history. With fame came immaturity in the moment and The Rockers after being fired and coming back to WWE would break up and go their separate ways. This is where Shawn Michaels would be able to display his talents inside the Ring and boy did he have plenty of them even when he first started out on his own in WWE. It led him to his first Singles Titles in the WWE with a Intercontinental Title win over The British Bulldog. Over the next couple of Years HBK would improve as a talent and be in classic Matches with guys like Bret Hart, Razor Ramon, and Undertaker.

By 1998, HBK had become the WWE Champion for the third time, but his demons was his greatest threat he hadn't be able to shake off. Between his inner demons and his body starting to break down HBK would be forced to retire dropping the WWE Championship to another Icon in this business Stone Cold Steve Austin. HBK's inner demons would be conquered when Shawn would put his faith in the Lord and his whole World changed. He became a better friend, Son, and Father, but HBK didn't know if he wanted to return to the Ring if he would physically be able to. Alot of people don't know the Match he had with Triple H at Summerslam was going to be a one off, but after that amazing Match HBK felt confident that he could be on the road again. HBK would continue giving us wonderful Matches with talent like Angle, and Flair just to name a few before being "retired" by The Undertaker. He might of came back many moons later, but you cannot deny we don't want to smile everytime he comes on Screen. HBK might go down as the best Worker of his era, and easily one of my favorite Wrestlers of all time. For Years I've thought which HBK Match is my favorite and it all always down to three Matches: Shawn Michaels vs Bret Hart Ironman Match, Angle vs Michaels Wrestlemania 21, and Taker vs Michaels from Wrestlemania 25. My legit give myself a headache over it. So here is Thread to show your love for The Showstopper, the Main Event, the Heartbreak Kid...SHAWN MICHAELS!

Ps. Expect me to make a Sting, Owen Hart, or Kairi Sane/Hojo Thread in the future if someone doesn't make one first.

I love HBK, definitely one of my favorites of all time. I used to rank him higher than I currently do, but a lot of that was how WWE presented him in his final few years. Either way, he's still one of the best.

Great performer in the ring and on the mic(after 94)

Backstage diva and pill junkie.

His comeback really helped him clean up his image and cemented as a top tier performer in the eyes of this generation and the next one for sure.

I don't think history would've been kind to him if 98 was his final year.

Most certainly not if 1998 was his last year. Shawn would've forever been known as a "Buzz Sawyer" type guy, over as fuck and a great wrestler, but a druggie and toxic bastard to deal with backstage.

He was pretty damn great but a lot of people overrate him just based off his style. However, that style did inspire a lot of wrestlers. He's got a lastin' legacy in WWE that many multiple time champions will never achieve. There was even a time every week WWE said he was the best ever. Now, that's reserved to John Cena for the most part. An awesome career nonetheless, I also think after he cleaned up he was a better wrestler. Of course, I do miss me some coked up Michaels.

Don't know if anyone has this seen this tribute video to him on Youtube, but it's a must watch if you're an HBK fan. Can't believe a fan made something this good:

Personally I still get choked up when I watch the Tell me a Lie Tribute for HBK from the HBK From the Vault DVD.

Shawn has a damn good case for being one of the GOATs. Really great in the ring, he had great character work, can work a crowd as a face or a heel. I agree with @El Kifeyye he got even better after he got off the shit and got cleaned up. But he wasn't that bad before that.

He wasn't bad at all before that. He was still great in the 90s. He was just elite in the 2000s.
