I dont know what diehard TNA fans think of this, but heres my opinion on Sharkboy.
Well, Ive beenm watching TNA again since the beginning of 2008 (I watchedd it in end of 2006 til mid 2007 as well) and I have to say ive actually enjoyed it lately. Ya, I know alot of people have some problems with it and critisize it, but somehow I enjoy it. I like the ring, the arena, the atmosphere and even the matches, but theres one thing that bugs me.
I watch TNA and generally enjoy the show, but then, out comes Sharkboy, its this stupid gimmick that kills it for me. I mean, Eric Young is pretty childish as well, but I can understand because when he was feuding with Robert Roode and some other feuds, he at least had a good storyline. But Sharkboy, who was dumb enough before this gimmick (when he was just sharkboy) and his stupid outfit and everything, but with this damn stone cold ripoff, it actually pisses me off. Its just like the whole show is good up until then, and after him, but then he comes out and I just feel stupid watching it.
Its a combination of the outfit, which is horrible, the name, which is Blue, and the rip off of SCSA, which is childish. Some may like it, it just bugs me.
What do you all think of this clown???

BTW: I like TNA except for this, so Im not just here to hate on the product:)

Honestly speaking, sharkboy is the only reason why I sometimes watch TNA, I want to see his Austin-style promos. I have a totally different view than yours, I find this storyline to be implausible and I think the whole Stone Cold transformation thing is hilarious and it makes me chuckle every time I watch sharkboy in an interview or backstage segment.

It's just so perfectly executed, and by the way how is it a rip off? Stone Cold isn't active anymore and it's just an impersonating comedy attention-grabber which I find brilliant Remember when Pat Patterson and Gerald Briscoe used to imitate Hogan back in the late 90's? I still find that entertaining. And remember more recently the so called "Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton" showed up on RAW and impersonated Hulk Hogan on Monday Night RAW? It's a clever and intelligent technique to get the fans to watch your show and I find this an entertaining publicity stunt in all aspects.

The voice mimicry is impeccable and everything else is outstanding as well in his promos, I kind of love this 24/7 gimmick it does make me laugh that's what I think of this clown :shifty:

Lol, I didnt mean rip-off in a bad way. It was just a word to use meaning like hes using the same gimmick. And not just the gimmick of a badass, but hes actually calling himself 3:16 and stuff. But again, its not the fact that Austin had that same thing that bugs me, its just that I dont like it in general. Its just IMO that i dont find it funny.entertaining or wrth watching, thats just me thought.
But the rest of the show is usually enjoyable.

Curryman is more understandable because of Daniels' legitimate use of it on Japan, so it's a bit of a cult thing, like the original Shark Boy character. The Sharkboy 3:16 crap just seems a bit cheap. Although apparently it makes Austin himself laugh!

sometimes i get annoyed at promotions ripping characters from other companies. but on this ocassion i got annoyed at first, the wake up and change of personal character was totally unexpected for me as sometimes i dont read the TNA Spoilers. then the clam juice, the shell yeh, the vest and the accent got annoying but now its not as annoying, its like a middle finger up to sharkboy from tna because eversince this change of character his win loss record has not changed. if tna intended to make an impact with this character, they have failed.

Pardon the pun in last line.

So you find the original sharkboy interesting and not the 3:16 impersonating gimmick of his? Come on man, be serious... this gimmick of his is 100x better than his original sharky gimmick and it's pretty good as well.

yeah the sharkboy character does absolutely nothing for me, its really aimed towards children, which is why that worthless character would be perfect in the WWE, and not funny.

You can say Sharkboy sucks all you want, but out there in the real world he's getting some of the biggest pops at PPVs. A select few may complain "ooohhh ripoff", but in reality most people don't care, find it funny, and love to watch. Besides, he's talented, so eventually they're going to slowly move away from Stone Cold and give him a similar but more unique gimmick, and i'll be there cheering all the way.

Tbh I don't mind him, but I don't like him. The only comedy character I find hilarious is Curryman. He's hot! He's spicy! TNA goes way overboard on comedy imo, but Sharkboy isn't that bad.

^ :)

I like sharkboys wrestling, If he wrestled without the sharkboy costume and had a whole new gimmick away from the sharkboy thing he would be great but as for the Austin thing, I don't like it. It was funny at first but they have kept it to long, If he gets a new gimmick he will be a very good wrestler that true wrestling fans may actually care about...

I have nothing against his wrestling abiliy. And its also not the Austin thing that bugs me (Sure, Im not a fan but that isnt why I dont like him).... Its really just what he is. The costume, the gimmick, the name, everything... It just seems so childish to me.
And for a company thats on the verge of growing, and hopefully getting bigger, his part in the show is what always makes me wanna change the channel.
I know that not everyones opinion but every fan counts:)
